Kalimah Programs will start processing scholarship applications in January 2020. Feel free to submit scholarship requirements below along with this application, but decisions about scholarships will be only made after the scholarship grant is secured in 2020.
Need-based scholarships are available to families that
(1) receive government assistance such as food stamps, housing, health insurance, etc.
To apply, upload proof of government assistance showing the date of the latest occurrence and name(s) of the beneficiaries (if not applicant, please also upload proof of beneficiary's relationship to the applicant).
or (2) families with a combined household income below the self-sufficiency level for the family size and county of residence.
To apply, upload the latest income tax return documents showing gross taxable income and family size/number of dependents.
To apply for a merit-based scholarship, upload the following:
(1) the applicant's latest report card or a recommendation letter from a teacher or official school representative attesting to the applicant's merit;
and
(2) a cover letter (by the parent) or a 1-2 minute video describing/showing applicant's merit at current school or an academic program, including a brief statement on why the applicant is interested in the summer program and in learning Arabic.
Please note that in order to guarantee fair distribution of scholarships among applicants, siblings cannot all be granted 100% merit-based tuition scholarships. If one child receives a 100% tuition scholarship, other siblings may be awarded 50% tuition scholarships only.
If any of the scholarship application requirements above are missing, you can still submit the application, but processing the scholarship application will be withheld until all requirements are completed.
