How to Change your Domains from jotform.com to jotform.net

Last Update: June 17, 2013

How can I redirect my forms to the new domains?

You can simply open up the html/php file for any web page with a Jotform form in any text/HTML editor(excluding MS Word and similar software) and replace all instances of  jotform.com with jotform.net. Your forms should start working as soon as you upload the updated file to your server.

Here’s an example based on a form in a contact page:
  1. Open up the contact.html in any text/HTML editor. (again, excluding MS Word and etc.)
  2. Use Find ( ⌘ + F / CTRL + F in most software ) and find all instances of jotform.com.
  3. Replace all of them with jotform.net.
  4. Save the file and switch to your FTP Client. (or any connection to your servers)
  5. Upload the updated file to your servers and your forms should start working immediately.

I have a lot of forms, is there a shorter way?

Yes, there is. Most HTML editors have a Global Find & Replace functionality that you can use to replace all instances of jotform.com with jotform.net at once
You can find further instructions for certain editors below.

Notepad++
Dreamweaver
FrontPage
Expression Web

There are also plug-ins for some Content Management Systems like Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal, but we recommend creating back-ups of your websites and your databases as they are rather fragile.

A small notice:

You may receive an email from us, suggesting a different domain. There is little difference, but we recommend using the domain that was sent to you in your email. As jotform.net is our main domain right now, it was used as an example above.

One of the handiest tools I have on my computer is called "Free Text Blocks Replacer." It's a small program that basically performs just one task but does it VERY well.

It can be downloaded from http://www.free-to-try.com/textrep/ (That's the same URL from which I downloaded it some years ago.)

You can also re-embed the forms, since jotform.net will give you the corrected code.

Funduc Search&Replace is another useful program. It's like grep with a gui frontend, and it works on entire directory structures from context-menu. It's not free though.

The email I received directed us to change the domain from jotform.com to jotformpro.com. I did not get an email about jotform.net.
Please advise to the correct change to make. We are in the USA.

Thanks for the quick notification.
TextCrawler is a free text replace application able to work through multiple directories.
It can find and list before replacing.
It worked well for us.

Agree with Lindsay...tried both the jotform.us and jotform.net, and neither is working. They WERE showing up with the .com (via Wordpress)....

Not working here, either. JSFORM is not working with .net or .us

It is still somehow trying to reference form.jotform.com (from the message on the bottom of Firefox of what is being accessed).

Don't forget to also look at your auto-responders and update any image urls to the new domain!

After the suggested changes, one of my 2 forms works, the other no. Maybe it's because this one was set in Spanish? I would need help here!
Thank you

I've made the changes I was advised to make (thank you for your helpful suggestions!)and my form works well. With that said, I can't get my custom submit button to show no matter I do. All the settings are correct.
My form is: http://form.jotform.us/jsform/11865156373
Please help!!!

This is a perfect example of what the government does without any bills. You all have a voice. Stop it now before it gets too out of hand.

I am sorry about all this. I can't imagine the nightmare this is causing for your company. I have about 300 submissions that I converted into PDF files. The links no longer open of course and so I'm wondering if the .com to .net solution will work in my case and automatically redirect all those link requests. Thanks for your help.

I hope and pray that you're back up and running without these completely bemusing and unfair US government restrictions. I've only been using JotForm for a little while, but I'm so happy for its existence. You've done nothing wrong, whatsoever. What are they thinking??!!!
