Form View Limits: What Is It All About?

Form View Limits: What Is It All About?

Recently, there was a new feature released - Form Views. You can read more about it on our blog here:

Announcing Pricing Modification: Form View Limits

Now, there might be some questions yet unanswered and we would be happy to answer them - which is the purpose of this article.

We should start with the limits. They can all be seen on our pricing page and as you can see, depending on the plan, you will have different form view counts.

For Free Plan the limit is to 1,000 form views per month

For Bronze Plan the limit is set to 10,000 form views per month

For Silver Plan the limit is set to 100,000 form views per month

For Gold Plan the limit is set to 1,000,000 form views per month

Now, that covers everything that is easy to see, and we will reply to all else through segments, so feel free to jump to the heading of your interest, although we do suggest checking it all out.

What exactly does a form view mean?

Form view is sometimes referred as impression and it is any type of loading the form. So if you have a page on your website that gets 1.000 views per month and embed the form on the same page, you are OK with the free plan - as long as form views go. Each time someone loads your page would load the form and that would be a form view.

If someone goes to edit their submission - that is another example of a form view.

Disabled forms will however not increase your form views.

Will views from Preview count as form views?

No. The Preview will not be counted against your form views. It will also not count it if the form is viewed by yourself while you are logged in - even if the form is embedded on your website.

This means that form views only count if someone else views the form. The same applies if you are not logged into the system while checking it.

Where can we check our form views?

You can check them in two places:

1. By clicking on the Avatar looking icon in the top right corner (#2 on the image below)

2. Or by going to Account > Usage (#4 on the image below)

How can we increase the form views?

It is one of the limitations that work to make things fair between everyone, but we do understand that for some people this might be just a bit low.

For that reason there is an option to increase your form views even further.

This is accomplished by going toyour Account > Settings (https://www.jotform.com/myaccount/settings)

There, you will see the JotForm Footer option at the very bottom (#2 on the image below). Enabling this will increase your form views.

How much is the increase? It goes to "Unlimited" and it does not matter what plan you are on. You will however need to refresh before you see the change in the usage.

***NOTE: The Form View limits is now always enabled for newly registered users on the FREE plan by default.

Can we opt out of the increase?

Sure. Just uncheck the same option (Account > Settings > JotForm Footer) and as you go back to usage or just refresh the page you will see the standard form views being applied again.

What does this option do?

All of your forms get a JotForm Footer presented on them. It is a nice slim and modern looking footer as you can see here:

What if I have additional question?

Great. We are waiting for you on our forum, so just let us know :)

You can do that by leaving a comment under this guide or by creating a new thread.

In my settings I am not seeing a way to disable the footer branding. I see the "Jotform Branding" radio button in settings but it's greyed out and I must upgrade to unselect this.

I don't mind the small branding near the submit button I just want the large footer branding to be removed.

    Thank you

    Thanks for response.
I have upgrade my account now

But the view count is a bit strange to me
As i created my first form on 7 May (without promotion), 23 May for the 2nd and 3rd forms
my website (with jotform) visitors for May around 300 only

but jotform view became 9xx already
    how it counts?

or if i put three forms in the same pages, it will count 3 views if people click inside?

    thanks

I use my website daily it acts as my storage for important information so I have a feeling that I'm the one viewing my form so how can I make it so that my viewing isn't counting in my form views?

If I have 4 different forms, do I get 1,000 views per form. Or a total of 1,000 views for the 4 different forms?

"No. The Preview will not be counted against your form views. It will also not count it if the form is viewed by yourself while you are logged in - even if the form is embedded on your website.

But it does count as a view if I preview the form, at least by choosing "open in a new tab". And I am logged in when doing this.

I have 30+ views on my form says the account details, and I have never shared my form with anyone, not even in the forums by leaving a link. It's still under development, so I haven't shared it yet. But then all those views must come from somewhere, and if it's not by me while logged in, then who?

Being able to reset the counter is a workaround, but not a solution if you can only do it once.

So the information you've posted here is a bit misleading and confusing really, I hope you can understand that. :)

How do you go about clearing submission storage?

  • 2ndleaseform

Hi I was told by Boris in another thread that the view count is reset on the 1st of each month. Its now the 1st and my time zone is set correctly, yet the count is still 993 from May? I have disabled some forms to avoid going over but now I want to enable them again.

    Thanks

I added in the JotForm footer to our forms, from what I read above, our forms will still work and we don't need to change our plan. Is this correct?
