• An Unfinished Art Exchange & Gallery Exhibition

An Unfinished Art Exchange & Gallery Exhibition

Your unfinished art deserves a second artist.
  • Oingapatchk (pronounced oyn-gah-patch-k) comes from Ungepatchka — a Yiddish word often used to describe something overly ornate, busy, excessively decorated, even senseless or kitsch. Too much. Layered. Unapologetic.

We chose the name not as a rule, but as a possibility.

In Oingapatchk, artists bring unfinished work and exchange it with another artist, who completes the piece in their own voice. Some works may tip into excess. Others may deepen, complicate, or quietly shift. What matters is not how far the work is pushed, but that it is genuinely entered.

The finished works will be exhibited together in a two-week gallery show and offered for sale. Each piece carries two hands, two instincts, and two ways of knowing when a work is finished.

If a piece sells, proceeds are split 50/50 between the original artist and the artist who completed it. Sales and payouts will be handled by the organizers.

  • Final Participation Agreement

By signing below, I agree to take part in Oingapatchk, a collaborative art exchange where artists step into each other’s unfinished work. I understand the piece may change in unexpected ways and I agree not to revise it once finished. The work will be shown for 10 days beginning June 5 and offered for sale through the organizers, with pricing decided together with my exchange partner. If the piece sells, proceeds will be split 50/50 and paid out via Venmo or PayPal within 48 hours after June 14, when buyers will pick up work at Ogden Arts After Dark. Any unsold work will be returned to the artists on June 14 unless otherwise rearranged. I also agree to share and promote the work during its creation and throughout the exhibition, and I understand a $20 non-refundable participation fee is required.
