To Our Beloved Kura Door Community,
As always, we hope that this finds you and yours well. We are excited to announce that after careful consideration we will be reopening The Kura Door on Monday, June 29th. We will begin taking appointment requests Tuesday, June 9th at 10am via text 801-364-2401 and phone 801-364-2400. A reservations coordinator will be available to assist you with all appointment bookings from now on, Sunday thru Saturday from 9am - 7pm. Appointments will be booked on a first come first serve basis and due to the high volume of inquiries that we have already received, we encourage you to book your appointment at your earliest convenience, especially if there is limited flexibility within your schedule.
We take reopening very seriously and committed ourselves to reopening our door only when we felt confident that we would be able to provide as safe an environment as possible for our employees and clients. We feel that after much work and preparation, our space and staff are ready to welcome you back. It is our deep commitment to maintain The Kura Door as a sanctuary of wellness and respite in our community during these uncertain times. In order to protect the integrity of each guest’s spa experience as well as the safety of all who enter our space, we have made the following temporary changes to our programming and invite you to join us in honoring and upholding each of the following:
Before You Spa
-
Operating hours: Sunday thru Saturday 9am to 10pm
-
Appointments may be booked via text 801-364-2401 and telephone 801-364-2400, Sunday thru Saturday, 9 am - 7pm. We will no longer be able to accept appointment bookings via email.
-
Online booking will not be available at this time due to staggered appointment start times.
-
Please arrive at reception 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment start time.
-
Appointments start times will be staggered by 15 minutes, allowing for only one guest at a time to check in and be escorted by their spa service provider directly to their treatment room. For the time being, we will not be accepting group bookings.
-
The Kura Door will temporarily not be accepting cash for payment or gratuity. In order to ensure a contact free check out, we will require credit card numbers in order to hold all appointments upon booking.
-
For now, all spa appointments will be 60 minutes in length in order to minimize potential exposure to viral load.
-
We will be offering all of our 60 minute Massages, Facials, Pedicures, and Manicures. We will unfortunately not be offering the Ofuro Bath Experience or Waxing services at this time, but look forward to bringing them back in the near future.
-
We will be confirming all spa appointments via telephone, text, and/or email 24 hours in advance. If you are feeling at all unwell or are recovering from a recent illness, please let our staff know and we will help you to reschedule your appointment. We appreciate that this may be frustrating, but please know that your health and the health of others in the spa is our priority. We are waiving our cancellation fee for the time being in order to accommodate last minute cancellations due to illness.
-
All guests will be required to have their forehead temperature taken upon arrival by the front desk attendant using a touch less infrared thermometer and will be asked how they are feeling. If a guest’s temperature exceeds 100 degrees F or they report that they are feeling or have been feeling at all unwell they will not be able to proceed with their scheduled appointment.
-
Upon arrival, guests will be required to use the touch less hand sanitizer station location inside the front door.
-
All clients are required to wear a mask while in the spa. We will provide FDA certified 3ply surgical masks to guests who do not have a mask of their own. Clients will be permitted to remove their mask for a facial treatment.
In the Spa
-
Guests will be provided with a complimentary pair of terry cloth spa slippers that they will take home with them following their service.
-
Our common areas (i.e. waiting rooms, locker rooms, sauna, and steam room) will be temporarily closed.
-
Guests will be escorted by their spa service provider from reception to their spa treatment room where they will undress/dress. Guests who book back to back services will be provided with a robe and tote bag for their belongings and will be escorted by their spa service provider to their next spa service. At the conclusion of their spa service(s) guests will be escorted back to reception for a contactless check out.
-
Our Tea, Elixir, and Refreshment bar will be temporarily closed. Guests will be provided with a complimentary bottle of spring water at the conclusion of their spa service.
Spa, Safety, and Hygiene
-
All employees will be provided with and will be required to wear FDA certified KN95 masks and/or 3ply surgical masks. Additionally, Estheticians performing facial treatments will be required to wear face shields and/or protective eyewear.
-
All employees will be required to have their forehead temperature taken upon arrival by spa management using a touch less infrared thermometer and will be asked how they are feeling. If an employee’s temperature exceeds 100 degrees F or they report that they are feeling or have been feeling at all unwell, they will not be able to work at the spa that day. Employees are not permitted to come into work if they feel at all unwell or are exhibiting any cold or flu symptoms. Additionally, employees have been asked not to return to work following an illness until they are fully recovered.
-
In addition to the routine cleaning and disinfection of the Spa’s restrooms, treatment rooms, and reception areas throughout the day, a professional cleaning company will regularly be completing a hospital-grade disinfection of the space after hours.
-
In order to ensure optimal indoor air quality, The Kura Door has recently replaced all HVAC units serving the building and will be installing state of the art UV light air sterilization systems within each unit. Additionally, each treatment room and common area will be equipped with its own high performance Austin Air purification unit. Austin Air purification units will be available for purchase at the front desk.

There are three touchless alcohol based hand sanitizer stations set up throughout the spa for guest use. We encourage guests to use these throughout their visit.
-
Sterilization before and after spa services: All tools, equipment, and surface areas in each treatment room will be thoroughly sterilized before and after every spa service. Spa service tables will be disinfected and prepared for each guest with freshly laundered linens.
We thank you all for your incredible support and well wishes during this tough time and genuinely can’t wait to welcome you back to The Kura Door.
Wishing you the best,
Ali and Mark
