FY26 RCES & MSAP Extension Request

If you have an approved Step 1 application to the Residential & Commercial Energy Storage or Maryland Solar Access program, please use this form to request a 60 day extension for your Step 2 Recertification deadline.
Extension Policy

Extension requests may be granted for up to 60 days beyond the original project completion deadline (the date the storage or solar system must be installed), but approval is not guaranteed and remains at MEA’s discretion. Reservation of funds expires 180 days after Step 1 approval unless an extension is formally approved.

Timeline and Process

Applicants must submit extension requests to the RCES team no later than 30 days before the reservation expiration date. Applicants who are provided with an extension will be notified via the primary and resident email attached to the Application ID.

Submitting an extension request alone does not guarantee approval; applicants should clearly document the good‑cause reason, demonstrate diligence in moving the project forward, and file their request on time to maximize the likelihood of MEA granting the extension.
