The Conference Advisory Board is an inspired, insightful and committed group of mostly collegiate members of Mortar Board who are invited by the National Office staff to assist in the planning and execution of programming for the national conference. A member’s term on the CAB runs from the time of appointment through the evaluation of the national conference.
ELIGIBILITY
Any collegiate member of Mortar Board is eligible to apply for the CAB, and preference will be given to collegiate members who have attended at least one national conference. New alumni members may also apply, provided they have attended at least one national conference or demonstrate expertise in leadership and conference programming.
EXPECTATIONS
A productive and valued member of the CAB will:
1. attend monthly phone/webinar meetings of the CAB
2. work productively in between meetings to complete assignments and follow up on action items
3. apply their knowledge of chapter operations in developing programming for the conference
4. apply their experiences at the national conference in developing effective programming
5. work to develop learning outcomes for the conference and apply programming accordingly
6. help acquire presenters as needed
7. work collaboratively with other members of the CAB and staff
APPLICATION AND SELECTION
A member may apply for a position on the CAB by completing the application below. Applications will be reviewed by the National Office. The National Office staff may invite some members to apply.
The National Office staff will hold phone interviews with select applicants. The CAB will be constituted before the end of the current calendar year.
A member unable to meet the expectations may voluntarily leave the CAB. At the discretion of the National Office, members with special abilities may be added to the CAB.
Select CAB members may be asked to work the National Conference as adjunct staff members of the National Office. A CAB member who becomes adjunct to the National Office staff will sign a letter of agreement for expectations for work and outcomes.
