  • All resources are provided free of charge to any agency serving low-income audiences.

    Nutrition education handouts, recipes cards, and other resources for your organization. All Materials Requests should be made a minimum of two weeks prior to the date that you need the materials by. Fulfillment of your Materials Request is not guaranteed until an NTFB Nutrition Team member reaches out to you with a request confirmation.

    Nutrition Education Workshop(s) Request involves one-time or series-based workshops geared towards a variety of audiences (children, teens, adults, parents/caregivers, and seniors). All Nutrition Education Workshop(s) Requests should be made a minimum of two weeks prior to the date that your agency would like to host the workshop. Your Nutrition Education Workshop(s) Request is not guaranteed until a member of NTFB's Nutrition Education Team reaches out to follow-up with more detailed information and a confirmation once availability and eligibility have been established.

  • Host Agency Site Details:

  • Does your agency have suitable space or room to host a nutrition workshop with sufficient tables and chairs to accommodate at least 10-15 participants? This is a mandatory requirement.
  • Does space where the nutrition workshop will be held have access to electrical outlets?
  • Is there a working sink to prepare food items and wash dishes close by or within the room where the nutrition workshop will be held? This sink must not be a bathroom sink. This is a mandatory requirement if you want to include food demonstration and food sampling.
  • Does your agency have access to a full, working kitchen facility (i.e. stove, microwave, refrigerator, etc.). This is optional and not a requirement.
  • Does your agency currently have a van (or other means of transportation) and valid insurance for transporting clients and participants to and from your site and/or to other locales (e.g., the grocery store)?
  • Host Agency Committment Details:

  • Before a class can be held at your site, North Texas Food Bank requires that you sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Would your agency be willing to complete this paperwork?
  • Your commitment to hosting a nutrition education workshop series is important to the overall success of this program at your agency.  Are you willing and able to be actively involved in recruiting participants, be present during classes to assist with class preparation and other class needs?

    Cooking Matters Agency Application

    Cooking Matters is dedicated to empowering low-income individuals and families with the tools necessary to maintain a healthy diet on a limited budget. It is a six-week nutrition & culinary education class series that we offer free in which nutrition and culinary volunteers facilitate 2-hour lessons once a week. Classes consist of a one hour nutrition lesson followed by a one hour culinary lesson.
  • Please Note: We require a full, working kitchen facility (stove,sink, and refrigerator) to host a course. If your agency does not have those accommodations, please forgo this application and request a workshop series.

  • Cooking Matters offers curricula in several different languages; however, we typically do not offer bilingual classes.  Would your site be interested in hosting a class in any other language other than English?
  • The Cooking Matters program requires agencies to provide childcare for children of adult participants when necessary. Does your agency currently have this capability?
