Bed & Breakfast/Inn of Distinction (20 rooms or less):
This award recognizes the B&B property that demonstrates architectural excellence and distinction; reflects historical preservation; serves as an ambassador for the B&B segment of the lodging industry; and/or plays an integral role in promoting the local tourism economy. Applicants should describe any exceptional architectural features, significant restorations, unique history, exceptional guest relations, community involvement and/or tourism promotion activities/innovations to be considered for this award.
Good Earthkeeping Award:
Recognizes lodging properties that have developed a culture toward integrating superior environmental management practices that improve everyday operations and the bottom line.
*Outstanding Bellperson of the Year:
Provides lodging properties with the opportunity to recognize exemplary professionalism and exceptional service by a bellperson.
*Outstanding General Manager:
Honors a hotelier who has demonstrated superior professionalism and taken a leadership role in the industry, ie: revitalized and/or opened a new property, saving property's bottom line while improving it, repeat business is strong.
*Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year:
Provides lodging properties with the opportunity to recognize exemplary professionalism and exceptional service by a non-management employee.
*Outstanding Manager/Supervisor of the Year (non-lodging employees also eligible)
Recognizes exemplary professionalism and exceptional service of a management/supervisory employee.
*Outstanding Roomkeeper of the Year:
Provides lodging properties with the opportunity to recognize exceptional service by a non-management employee in the housekeeping department.
Outstanding Tourism Executive of the Year (non-lodging employees also eligible):
Recognizes a management/executive employee who has demonstrated outstanding contributions of leadership and service to his/her community. The nominees are judged on performance that goes above and beyond normal job responsibilities and outstanding and unusual service to the industry.
Outstanding Tourism Educator of the Year:
Recognizes the invaluable role that tourism educators contribute in helping to motivate, nurture, and encourage their students, along with their tireless efforts to help shape the future of the hospitality industry.
