Oregon Bioscience Incubator's Mentoring program is a personalized 6-month program designed for bioscience and digital health companies. Mentors and mentees are matched in a structured matchmaking process which takes place twice a year.
The application process includes:
This online application
A possible follow-up interview
Note: If you are not selected to become a mentee, you may reapply for the next cohort in 6 months.
Once you are approved to become a mentee, you will receive free training, and can then participate in the matching process. This process includes a "pitch" session where the mentees give short company pitches to the group of mentors; afterward, OBI matches mentors and mentees based on your preferences.
Over the course of the 6-month mentoring program, mentors and mentees meet once or twice a month for a total of 2 hours per month. Mentees are also expected to do "homework" assignments based on their goals and the steps they are taking to reach their goals. Mentees are also required to check in with OBI each month with a simple form to complete. The mentee, not the mentor, is always responsible for their own outcomes.
When the program ends, mentors and mentees fill out exit surveys. OBI will use this information to determine the effectiveness of the mentoring program and to rate mentors for certification.
Please note: All participants must sign a non-disclosure agreement before the official mentoring program begins.
