TECHNICAL SITE SURVEY - TSS

Caban Energy has requested that you conduct a Technical Site Survey (TSS) at a site owned by one of our clients. Please ensure you have all the necessary personal safety equipment to carry out this activity. It is important to complete all the tasks outlined in this form accurately and efficiently to avoid any discrepancies, incidents, injuries, or damage to the equipment at the site you will be visiting. 

In the following section, you will find a link to communicate via WhatsApp with a Design Team member that can assist you in filling out the form. Click on the link and let them know that you are about to enter the data for the requested site.

Before opening electrical cabinets and shelters, ensure you have authorization to take the necessary measurements. Contact the site supervisor to confirm that you are authorized to proceed with opening the equipment.

To carry out the requested activities, you should have the following recommended tools:

1. Cell phone or camera with at least 12 megapixels
2. Measuring tape (50 meters / 164 feet)
3. Measuring tape (8 meters / 26 feet)
4. Insulated screwdriver set
5. Separate hex key set (both metric and imperial)
6. 1000-volt pliers
7. Non-digital magnetic compass
8. AC/DC clamp multimeter (brands such as Fluke, Brymer, Extech, Amprobe, Innova, Mastech, or Unitrend) with the ability to measure both average and maximum currents
9. Hook-type earth ground meter for grounding measurements (brands such as Fluke, Brymer, Extech, Amprobe, Innova, Mastech, or Unitrend)
10. Drone equipped with a digital camera of at least 12 megapixels

Optional equipment:

1. Drill or battery-powered screwdrivers
2. Active power measurement data logger

Please note: For all electronic measuring equipment, valid calibration certificates must be presented, and they should not be older than one year.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Your safety is our top priority. It is mandatory to wear the following personal protective equipment:

1. Safety helmet
2. Transparent safety glasses
3. Vest (green or orange) with reflective strips
4. Electrical protection gloves (rated for 1000 volts)
5. Safety boots with electrical protection (dielectric with static dissipation)
6. Safety harness with lifeline (required only when working at a height of 1.5 meters (5 feet) or higher; the safety harness must be within its valid useful life)
7. Cones
8. Hearing protection
9. Employee identification card
10. First aid kit
11. Contractor company uniform

Please ensure that you have all of these items for your safety.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Energy consumption measurements recorded for a minimum period of three (3) hours using a power grid analyzer or multimeter, including meter readings and timestamps at the start and end of the site visit.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This información most provide:

• Identification and documentation of  access suitability for 4x4 vehicles, weight or height restrictions, obstacles along the route (low bridges, overhead cables, gates), rainy season conditions (potential impassability), and maneuvering and parking space at the site.
• Identification and documentation of road type (paved, unpaved, trail, etc.), pavement/surface condition (good, fair, poor), minimum road width (vehicle access capability), road slope (presence of steep sections), sharp or hazardous curves, adequate road signage, and lighting (if applicable).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please, in this information include identification and documentation of: prevailing climate (rainy, dry, snowy), vegetation that may obstruct access, and presence of wildlife or hazardous animals.

IMPORTANT NOTES: This information mnust provide,

• Identification and documentation of pedestrian path from the parking area, condition of stairs, ramps, or walkways, requirement for special access equipment (harness, ladder, etc.), and site signage visibility and clarity.
• Identification and documentation of requirement for private property access permits, coordination with local authorities, and existence of site access protocols.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This information must provide identification and documentation of areas prone risk of vandalism or insecurity in the area, and availability of mobile phone signal along the route.

ATS ONE Information

IMPORTANT NOTE: this information about the grounding system must provide data about the existing system through measurements performed at physical ground wells, connecting the measuring instrument to at least three down conductors bonded to the site grounding ring, with recorded results and photographic evidence.

GROUNDING SYSTEM MEASUREMENTS
Perform measurements at a minimum of three distinct points of the grounding system. Measurements should be taken at the grounding manhole and at the down conductor of the main busbar or tower.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• This cabinets must be clearly shown on the single line diagram. 
• Identification of the AC and DC connection point for each individual load and cabinet must be identified.
• Rectifier readings must be included, AC input feeder measurements, and clamp meter readings to determine the average load of each individual cabinet

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• Please, identify and measure any other AC loads present at the site, such as air conditioning systems and luminaires/lighting fixtures to be considered in the site load study.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Availability of clear AC and DC information of the electrical infrastructure installed on site must be shown on the single line diagram. Handmade single-line diagram (free-hand sketch) showing clear AC (and DC if applicable) electrical infrastructure, using IEC symbols, specified conductors, protection devices, and equipment locations.

Identify and measure any other AC loads present at the site, such as air conditioning systems and luminaires/lighting fixtures to be considered in the site load study.

Include in the Single line diagrama the remote start connection point,  the AC connection point for each individual load, and the DC connection point for each individual load.

Perform electrical measurements at the main breaker or grid connection dedicated exclusively to our client.

 ELECTRICAL BOARD ONE - Electrical measurements

Create a hand-drawn sketch of the site using paper and pencil, using the provided example as a reference. Accurately measure and include the interior perimeter, the positions of all equipment and towers on site, and the heights of each structure. Be precise with your measurements, and ensure that your drawing is clear, detailed, and easy to read.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This Sketch must include:

• Site layout sketch, properly scaled and dimensioned, using standardized symbols, including all site elements such as slabs, cabinets, panels, generators, safety distances, lighting poles, transformers, feeders, trees causing shading, guy wires, braces, and access points.
• On-site north measurement using a physical compass (digital compass not accepted).
• Identification and registration of on-site trees, including distance to the site, height, and pruning constraints (forest reserve, restricted or protected species), please incluye any constraint that you identify on the site.

If you have a previously provided drawings, you may annotate it directly and upload an image with your annotations.

Sketch of Site Obstructions (Elements That Can Cause Shadows)

To ensure optimal efficiency for the installation of solar panels, it's important to identify nearby elements that may cast shadows on the PV solar panels.

1. Identify and measure the distance from the site’s wall to each obstructing element (e.g., trees, buildings, poles, etc.).
2. Create a hand-drawn sketch on paper, similar to the example shown in Figure 1 and 2.
3. Clearly indicate the measured distances in your drawing.
   Estimate the height of each obstructing element and include these in the sketch.
4. Once complete, take a photograph of your drawing and upload it.
5. Identification and registration of on-site trees, including distance to the site, height, and pruning constraints (forest reserve, restricted or protected species), please incluye any constraint that you identify on the site.

Panoramic Photographic Requirements
A total of nine panoramic photographs must be taken, as outlined below:

Exterior Photos (5 total):
1. One photo from each side of the site: North, South, East, and West.
2. One photo taken directly in front of the site's main access point.

Interior Photos (4 total):
1. One photo taken from each corner inside the site, capturing the interior space and surroundings.
Ensure all photos are clear, well-lit, and capture both the site and any relevant obstructions and must be georeferenced.

Georeferenced photographic record uploaded to Google Photos, including exterior, interior, access routes, equipment, electrical measurements, and panoramic images from site corners, in accordance with the TSS form.

Photographic Guidelines

Take eight photographs as shown in the diagram. Position yourself at the location marked with an "X" and take the photograph according to the indicated field of view. After capturing the photos, upload them in the order specified in the diagram.

Ensure that the photographs are as wide as possible to clearly capture trees, houses, or other potential obstructions that may cast shadows within the site.

Photographic Guidelines

Take eight photographs as shown in the diagram. Position yourself at the location marked with an 'X' and capture the photo according to the specified aperture. After taking the photos, upload them in the order indicated in the diagram. Ensure the photographs are as wide as possible to capture all the equipment within the site.

Instructions for Taking 6 Drone Photos:

First photo: Take a wide-angle shot that captures the entire site along with its surroundings. This image should provide a broad overview that helps understand the location and the surrounding context.

Second photo: Take a photo focused solely on the site from a top-down view (top view), where the equipment installed at ground level is clearly distinguishable. Make sure the details of the equipment are visible and sharp.

Third to sixth photo: Take one photograph from each of the following cardinal directions, showing the site and any obstructions that may exist in that direction. The purpose of these photos is to understand the size or dimensions of the obstructions in each direction:

• Photo 3: View of the site and obstructions to the south.
• Photo 4: View of the site and obstructions to the east.
• Photo 5: View of the site and obstructions to the west.
• Photo 6: View of the site and obstructions to the north.

In all photos, ensure that the obstructions are clearly visible, and the shot is high enough to provide a good perspective of the surrounding area.
