Terms
If funded, this grant is disbursed as a lump sum through the student accounts system and is considered financial aid. Students are responsible for contacting OneStop to ensure that this grant, if funded, does not make their total financial aid package exceed the official cost of attendance at the University of Minnesota for the academic year. This grant is also subject to federal and state income taxes. Additional information may be found here.
Registering International Travel
University policy requires all faculty, staff, and students traveling abroad for University purposes to register their travel. The International Travel Registry is part of the University's efforts to ensure that all travelers are prepared and educated about safe and healthy travel abroad. When you register your travel, you will also become covered by the international health, security, medical, and evacuation insurance. More info & cost here.

- Awards are subject to program funding
- Students must follow all policies related to research and human subjects. Students must consult with their advisor to determine if an IRB is necessary.
- Advisors must approve of the activity before an application is submitted
- Research travel awardees must submit a ~1 page progress/activity report within 30 days of return
