• SORC-CERTIFIED STUDENT ORGANIZATION OFFICE SPACE APPLICATION

  • ONE-YEAR TERM OF USE POLICY

    The SORC-certified organizations selected to attain office space will be granted such space for a period of one academic year. Organizations possessing office space in the O’Hara Student Center will not permitted to store organizational materials in the locker facilities found on the 5th floor of the union. Organizations already holding office space do need to reapply during the application period. Organizations not already holding office space will be able to apply alongside those organizations reapplying to hold their current spaces. All applications/reapplications are due by March 31st, 2017 at 5:00pm. The selection process will occur throughout the week, and organizations will be notified if they have been granted space by April 23rd, 2017. Organizations required to leave their spaces will need to remove all of their belongings by the end of the spring academic term.

    RE-APPLICATION TERMS

    To determine whether the organization already holding office space should remain, the organization will have to show that:

    1. Their organization continues to hold over 20 active members
    2. Their organization must display that it is continuing to engage Pitt’s student body through their purpose in some form of relevant programming.
    3. They must show that their organization and/or programming benefitted from their office space.

    Those organizations reapplying will be equally evaluated alongside those organizations that are applying without current space. Organizations reapplying will have to also require a final interview by the Office Selection Committee. 

  • In order to apply for one of the ten available cubicle-style office spaces in the O’Hara Student Center:

    1. Your organization must be currently certified by SORC.
    2. Your organization must have at least 20 active members.
    3. The President of your organization must agree to the terms of use of the space provided in this application.
