WAIVER OF LIABILITY

DEFINITION: A Liability Waiver is an agreement form signed by a party that releases another party from liability for damage or injury that the signed party may incur as part of their participation.

PURPOSE: A Release of Liability Form or Waiver of Liability Agreement is a legal document between two parties: the Releasor (participant/participant’s family) promising not to bring legal actions and the Releasee (Steiger International), who is potentially liable. By signing the Waiver of Liability, the Releasor acknowledges that they understand the potential risks and claims involved (in a Steiger-related function, event, activity, trip, etc.) and agrees not to bring legal action to the Releasee for past or future injuries or damages.

COVERAGE: All Steiger International functions and activities that require application or registration such as (but not limited to) Impact Trips (Local and Global), 1 Day Impact Events, Vision Trips, “Spend a Week”, Pioneering Teams/Trips, In-Person Events, Intensive Trainings, NLM Tours, Steiger Mission Schools, Missionary Applications, Staff Position Applications, International Gatherings and Family Gatherings.

TYPES OF RELEASE UNDER THIS WAIVER OF LIABILITY¹:

• General Release: The Releasor is broadly giving up all known and unknown claims against the Releasee.
  
• Mutual Release: Both Releasor and Releasee give up all past and future claims against one another.
  
• Damage or Theft of Property: The Releasor gives up claims against physical property that is harmed or stolen.
  
• Personal Injury: The Releasor gives up claims of injury sustained to their physical, psychological, and emotional being.
  
• Event or Activity²: The Releasor waives future claims for personal injuries caused by and/or related to an event or activity hosted or owned by the Releasee or a third party.

AGREEMENT
I understand and affirm the following:

• although Steiger International will do all in their power to protect, defend, and provide relief, I must in the final analysis depend on my loving Heavenly Father for my protection and well-being.
  
  
• obedience to the leading and prompting of the Holy Spirit sometimes leads to risk, and I must count the cost of obedience.
  
  
• no matter where I may go, there will always be the potential danger of being imprisoned by a government, hijacked, kidnapped, taken hostage, or experiencing random acts of violence. These acts that may deprive me of my civil or human rights, cause injury or death to me or my dependents, or loss of personal property cannot ultimately be prevented by Steiger International.
  
  
• therefore, in the event that I or my dependents suffer loss, including injury, deprivation, death, or inconvenience in the performance of my duties from persons, forces, or events outside the legitimate direction or control of Steiger International, I will make no claim or lawsuit against any member of Steiger International or its affiliates.
  
  
• I have carefully read and fully understand all the provisions of this waiver of liability I am freely, knowingly and voluntarily entering into this Release.

TYPES OF RELEASE DEFINED:

General Release: The Releasor and anyone claiming on the Releasor's behalf releases and forever discharges Steiger International and its affiliates, in their individual and/or corporate capacities, from any and all claims, liabilities, obligations, promises, agreements, disputes, demands, damages, causes of action of any nature and kind, known or unknown, which Releasor has or ever had or may in the future have.

Mutual Release: Both parties mutually release and forever discharge the other party including the other party’s affiliates. This release shall not be in any way construed as an admission by either party that it has acted wrongfully with respect to any party or person, that it admits liability or responsibility at any time for any purpose, or that either party has any rights whatsoever against the other party.

Damage or Theft of Property: The Releasor and anyone claiming on the Releasor's behalf releases and forever discharges Steiger International and its affiliates, in their individual and/or corporate capacities, from any and all claims of the Releasor's personal property being damaged or stolen. Steiger International will not assume responsibility for items lost either. The Releasor assumes all responsibility for personal property.

Personal Injury: Releasor and anyone claiming on Releasor's behalf releases and forever discharges Steiger International and its affiliates, in their individual and/or corporate capacities from any and all causes of action known or unknown, which Releasor has, had, or may in the future have arising out of or relating to injuries (physical, emotional or psychological) sustained.

Event or Activity: The Releasor and anyone claiming on the Releasor's behalf releases and forever discharges Steiger International and its affiliates, in their individual and/or corporate capacities, from causes of action of any nature and kind, known or unknown, arising out of or relating to any injury, loss, or damage to person and property that may be sustained as a result of participation. The Releasor understands that participation involves inherent risks, including risk of physical, emotional, or psychological injury, pain, suffering, illness, disfigurement, temporary or permanent paralysis and/or death, and assumes all related risks and voluntarily participates in the activity.
