2014-07-18 16:23:24Don CrisafulliI attended Mark Twain School from January through June of 1966 for the latter half of second grade or what was called Continuing Primary by the school. THE roughest and most difficult time that I ever encountered in an educational "career" that encompassed grammar school, junior high school, high school, and undergraduate study at a major four-year university in Boston which led to a B.S. degree. To say the least, most of the kids in my class were unmerciful, both because I was new to the area and I had a long, polysyllabic, non-Anglo/Germanic surname. It went on day after day with no letup and worst of all, the teacher, Mrs. Massoth, did nothing about it. I wouldn't say that I was scarred for life by that experience but for all of the wrong reasons, I'll never forget it.1966
2013-08-09 00:02:31DebbieCole-MeeI atended Mark Twain the very 1st day it opened 5th & 6th grade; 1963-1965
I started in the fall of 1963 in the 5th Grade.
SO, my brother Tom Cole was the 1st graduating 6th grade class June of 1964 and I was the 2nd class in 1965. WOW!!!

I remember being in the "pod" when the horrible news(which we were watching on TV) was shown live, President Kennedy being shot on November 22, 1963.
I remember watching all of the SPACE launchs and landings - they used to land in the SEA!

I remember being tested for band on a "coke" bottle. It determined if I could play a flute or a clarinet.

2013-03-06 11:05:37KevinBoyleStarted 2nd grade when school opened in fall of 63 and "graduated" from 6th grade in spring of 68. Many fond memories. Will always remember the radio broadcast of Game 7 of the 67 World Series (Cars / Red Sox) being piped into the classrooms over the intercom - and of course a Redbird victory! Currently living in Alexandria Va with my wife and two children1963-68

2012-10-06 10:12:37DawnRichards

This is a newsletter from Florissant Junior High in June 1979. I have 8 of these.
2012-10-06 09:27:34DawnRichardsCome to think of it, maybe it is only the Class Photo page from each of my own classes that I have. I am not sure about any other yearbooks. Hmmm -
2012-10-06 09:22:31DawnRichardsI have yearbooks from several years I attended Mark Twain, somewhere.
Next time I come across them, I will scan them.
2012-10-05 14:50:48DawnRichardsi graduated from 6th grade in 1978. loved my grade school years! -
2012-06-16 13:06:39Carla UsaiI was a student K-6 ( I think 1972-1978??) I have 4 siblings who also attended. We are not on the list - can we be added? David Usai, Dana Usai, Jodi Usai, Carol Usai and Carla Usai. There are lots of missing names. I can name quite a few just from memory who lived on our street growing up! I'd love to hear from somebody. Looking at these old pics/yearbooks is priceless. Thank to whoever is putting this all together!
2012-05-01 07:02:03KarenRichterI was a student at Mark Twain until it closed at the end of my 5th grade year. I didn't see my name of the list though, so I can't join this site. -
2012-03-20 13:12:11AlysonAngusI will take you up on the offer Tim. I agree, we need someone from each class to head up finding alum from that class. I wanted to get the Reunion Survey going and find out just who was interested in the first place. Looks like most people like the idea of an all school reunion and it's split about half and half with class breakouts. -
2012-03-19 11:58:05TimothyBohannonI think getting some teachers there would be a nice touch. I believe I can get ahold of Mr. Kreckle 6th grade teacher, Mr Sink gym teacher and both my sisters went there Kathy Bohannon is 48 and Debbie Bohannon is 50. I still talk with many from class of 81 my class and the classes of 76 to 80. I would love to help out if you need free help. My name is Timothy Bohannon Cell number 314-566-7117. Thank you. I lived in the indian streets right off Derhake. West of the School. Maybe trying to get one person from each class and let them try to find some people would be a good start. Let me know, I am hear to help.
2012-03-18 21:11:53AlysonAngusI added your name Mike. Please go to Mark Twain students, click your name and fill out your page. Please answer the reunion survey, too. We really need to get plans underway and need to know what everyone wants to do. -
2012-03-18 18:05:17MikeBeckermannI was a student at Mark Twain. -
2012-02-22 19:46:40JayWaldenI was aware my friends Gary Crocker and Mike Marren had died, but I was saddened to see Jeff Clark had as well. He was a sweet gentle guy who was a good friend. Very mechanically talented, and always had an easy smile. When I last saw him at our ten year high school reunion, I thought he had beaten his cancer. Hard to believe all of these guys died so young. -
2012-01-29 21:15:25AlysonKeirleI've added your name to the class lists if you would like to join the site. The cowboy was one of my favorites, but you're right, the landing mat was hard! It was't much better than the concrete below. I remember when Tony Misuraca broke his ccollar bone falling off of it. -
2012-01-28 11:03:14JimPirrieI went to Mark Twain the first year it opened, 1963. Attended 1st, 2nd, and half of 3rd grades, 1963 thru 1966. Do you remember the cowboy on the playground? I fell off of it in 2nd grade and broke my arm. they had just installed rubber mats under the cowboy a few days earlier but they were so hard it didn't help at all. Had Mrs. Pruitt for 2nd grade, she let us watch some of the World Series in 1964. -
