    Badgerland Reptile Rescue
  • Badgerland Reptile Rescue is the Midwest's newest reptile rescue. Our focus is finding homes for unwanted reptiles and amphibians, as well as advocating for the proper husbandry of exotic animals.

  • Personal Information

  • To be a foster for Badgerland Reptile Rescue, we are required to collect some information and validate your responses. This information is only used for verification purposes.

  • Your Experience and Preferences

  • Note: while the above list is not the only species that will be available for fostering, it is the most common species that are typically surrendered to rescues.

  • Currently, only experienced fosters and board members are eligible to foster snakes over 6' in length, rear-fanged venomous snakes (including Western hognose), monitor lizards, and tegus. While Badgerland Reptile Rescue does accept crocodilians and venomous reptiles that are surrendered to our organization, these animals are not released into the foster program.

  • The average "stay" for an animal in foster care is 3-6 months, but in some cases may be longer or shorter. It helps us to know if our foster volunteers are willing to take on a long-term resident or if they would prefer only short-term fosters.

  • Final Notes

  • At this time, we do not anticipate launching the foster program until 2022. There is a chance that we will accept some foster volunteers on a limited basis prior if needed.

Submission of this form does not guarantee that you will be selected as a foster. While we deeply appreciate the interest of every single individual that would like to volunteer, we do need to consider the needs of each animal in our care. If additional information is needed or if you are selected to become a foster, we will contact you directly.

All fosters will complete an orientation and sign a foster agreement prior to receiving their first foster animal.

Badgerland Reptile Rescue covers the veterinary expenses for all animals in our care. In many cases, we are able to loan foster volunteers the appropriate enclosure and supplies for their foster animals (these supplies must be returned with the animal). It is possible that foster homes may be asked to cover the meal expenses for their foster animal but Badgerland Reptile Rescue will attempt to secure donations.
