HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS PLANNING TO MAJOR IN THE ARTS

Please read the application carefully and be sure to complete the entire application. Ensure that all required documents are uploaded and transcripts requested in a timely manner. Completed applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline. Submit all inquiries to:

Application Instructions and Requirements:

This application is intended for the following:
- Artistically Talented High School Senior Planning to Major in the Arts - Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Creative Writing or Drama
Applicants must reside in the Columbia (SC) Alumnae Chapter service areas (Fairfield, Lexington, Newberry, or Richland counties) to be eligible for the scholarship.

All applicants must include a typed narrative of 400-750 words describing your most meaningful achievements and how they relate to your intended field of study.

Additional documents are required based on category of the application:
1. Artistically Talented High School Senior Planning to Major in the Arts - Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Creative Writing or Drama:
  - Three (3) signed letters of recommendation from the following (one from each category):
    
    A current school counselor
    
    A creative/performing or visual arts teacher, coach or advisor
    
    A character reference letter - The person writing the letter should be someone other than a relative, who knows the applicant well (i.e., a minister, neighbor or supervisor)
  - Art portfolio, programs of recitals, public performances or other evidence of outstanding achievements in the Arts
  - Copy of College Acceptance Letter
  - Official High School Transcript. Minimum GPA 3.0 on 4.0 scale. Must include the fall 2025 semester grades.
  - All documents must uploaded with your application.
Letters of recommendation must contain an original signature. We will not accept letters with digital signatures. You may make a copy of your signed letter of recommendation and upload the copy as part of your application packet.
