The Arts & Culture Department sponsors a variety of cultural activities, events, festivals, and programming that generate significant impact for the community. The supported services range from small community gatherings to larger events that support and reflect the art and culture of our vast Santa Fe community. We primarily fund nonprofit arts-focused organizations based in Santa Fe city and county.
ABOUT OUR FUNDING SOURCE: Funding for this program is authorized by the City of Santa Fe Ordinance No. 1987-45, which earmarks Lodgers' Tax for the Arts for the "promotion and advertising of nonprofit attractions and nonprofit performing arts in Santa Fe." Therefore, eligible events must play a role in promoting tourism and apply the funding received primarily toward the project's promotional, advertising, and marketing costs.
TIMELINE: Please submit sponsorship requests at least 90 days prior to the event or initiative's commencement for best consideration. Arts & Culture Department approval is only the first step of a complex, closely-audited public finance process and we cannot guarantee that funds will arrive prior to the event. Please keep in mind that funds may not arrive until after the event has concluded, and it may be prudent to budget accordingly as reimbursement funding.
SCORING CRITERIA: Scoring of applications submitted will take place at the end of each month. We look for applications that clearly outline costs vs request, community benefit and cultural relevance. We will contact you after applications are reviewed.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: If a sponsorship is awarded, an acknowledgement of the Arts & Culture Department's sponsorship and current logo should be placed in all program materials. Both print and web-friendly versions of the logo will be provided upon award.
