Content Creator Collaborator Agreement
The League of Chicago Theatres represents a diverse network of over 200 theatre companies across Chicago. Our social media presence reflects our mission to support, promote, and advocate for our theatre community while cultivating an inclusive digital space.
These guidelines serve as an agreement for individuals looking to partner and collaborate on our social media channels, ensuring our content is thoughtful, engaging, and aligned with our values.
We’re excited to welcome you as a collaborator for Chicago Theatre Week (CTW26)! By participating, you’ll play a vital role in amplifying Chicago’s diverse theatre scene while enjoying unique opportunities to connect with local and visiting audiences.
This agreement outlines expectations and responsibilities to ensure transparency, professionalism, and compliance with Illinois law.
By submitting to participate, you agree to:
- Promote Chicago Theatre Week production(s) you attend by creating engaging, authentic content.
- Submit timely content in the format requested by LOCT Marketing via @ChicagoPlays and email LOCT Marketing Manager, (tanya@chicagoplays.com).
Note: LOCT Marketing reserves the right to review and approve content before posting as a collaborator.
- Post on your social platforms and tag @ChicagoPlays as a collaborator.
- Highlight Chicago Theatre Week, Hot Tix, and participating theatres positively in your content.
- Acknowledge content sharing rights: your posts may be reshared by @ChicagoPlays, the League of Chicago Theatres, and participating theatres.
- Collaborate with member theatres if they reach out during the campaign to promote their productions.
- Recognize Hot Tix as the exclusive discounted ticketing platform for CTW. Competitor platforms (e.g., TodayTix, theatre-specific discount programs) must not be mentioned in CTW-designated posts.
Legal Responsibilities – Illinois Law
As a content creator participating in this program, you agree to comply with the following legal standards:
- Truthful Representation: Under the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (815 ILCS 505), all promotional content must be honest and not misleading.
- Disclosure of Endorsements: In line with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines (applicable nationwide, including Illinois), you must clearly disclose any free tickets, perks, or compensation received for CTW collaborations (e.g., using “in partnership with Chicago Theatre Week”).
- Intellectual Property Rights: You retain ownership of your original content but grant LOCT Marketing, the League of Chicago Theatres, and participating theatres a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to share, repost, or repurpose your CTW-related content.
- Defamation & Respectful Conduct: Illinois law recognizes liability for defamatory statements. Content must avoid false or harmful claims about productions, theatres, or individuals.
- Privacy & Consent: If your content features individuals other than yourself, you are responsible for obtaining their consent before posting, in compliance with Illinois privacy and publicity rights.
- Compliance with Platform Policies: You agree to follow the terms of service of the social media platforms you use (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
