Please read the following Terms & Conditions before submitting your entry.
1. Eligibility
- The 2026 Bega Streetlight Photo Exhibition is open to submissions from photographers of all levels, aged 18 and over (or with guardian consent if aged under 18).
- Entrants must live within the Bega Valley Shire.
- Submitted photographs must be created by the entrant and must not infringe on any third-party rights.
Photos must have been taken in the last 5 years (after 01/01/2021).
2. Submission Guidelines
- Entrants may submit up to two (2) original photographs.
- Submit JPEG or PNG files, min 500Kb, max 5MB.
- We encourage images that respond to the theme "A Snapshot of Belonging" in the Bega Valley.
- Judges will be looking for images that are unmanipulated and authentic. AI-generated or composite images will not be accepted.
- Minor adjustments (e.g. brightness, contrast, cropping) are allowed.
- Finalists must provide high-resolution versions for print by request. Images that are too low in quality for printing at large scale may not be included in the exhibition.
3. Judging Process
- Stage One: A panel with conduct a blind online vote by way of casting a limited number of votes across all photos.
- Stage Two: A panel will select finalists from the shortlisted images from the point of view of curating the shopfront exhibition.
- Finalist numbers are based on the number of available shopfronts confirmed by South East Arts before the event date.
- All judging decisions are final.
4. Finalist Recognition
- Each finalist will receive a $400 artist fee.
- Finalist images will be printed on vinyl and exhibited in Carp Street shopfronts.
- Finalists names and images may be published in promotional marketing material leading up to and after the event.
5. Exhibition Terms
- Prints on vinyl will be displayed in shopfront windows at a consistent size determined by South East Arts in consultation with hosts.
- The images will be installed before the 2026 Bega Streetlight Festival (25 September) and will remain in situe for the duration of the exhibition (to be determined).
- South East Arts will manage all printing and installation; no further input from the photographer is required.
- The vinyl prints cannot be salvaged after being uninstalled from windows.
6. Copyright & Permissions
- Photographers retain copyright of works.
- By entering, you grant South East Arts and Bega Streetlight Festival a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to exhibit and promote your work, including digital and print use for non-commercial festival promotion and funder reporting.
7. Privacy
- Personal information is used only for competition administration.
- Entrants may opt-in for future communications from South East Arts.
- Entrants may request deletion of their personal information by emailing seainfo@southeastarts.org.au
8. Cancellations or Changes
- Organisers reserve the right to amend or cancel any aspect of the competition due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Finalist Artist fees will still be honored if the exhibition is cancelled post-judging.
- No changes will be allowed to photographic entries after the initial submission.
