Applications will be accepted and open to the general public beginning March 10th. Please read all information below before applying.

Wakulla Christian is a small private school that accepts students 3K through 12th grade. Current families and their siblings re-enrolled in the month of February. From this data we were able to determine the number of students we can accept for the {schoolyear} school year.

Below is a list of each grade and next to it a note regarding availability. As you can see several grades are already full due to space limitations. If a grade is full and you would like to be contacted should an opening occur prior to school starting in August please provide us with your contact information by selecting that option below.

It’s important to note that it is a very rare occurrence to have spaces open up, but on occasion it does happen which allows us to accept new applicants and reach out to those who filled out their contact information. This is not a waiting list, it is a call back list.

WCS seeks to accept students of families who are active members of a local Bible believing church, who can faithfully sign our Statement of faith, and abide by the school guidelines and philosophy. In addition to Biblical values, WCS takes the time to interview each student and their parents. Administration also considers a student’s school discipline record and transcripts, including test scores and attendance records. Parents may begin the evaluation process by submitting this evaluation application along with the required fees and other documentation as noted within this application.

A Non-Refundable Entry Application Fee of $50.00* per student is required at the time of submission of this evaluation application.

* NOTE: VPK students are not required to pay an Application Fee.

This evaluation application MUST be filled out online for each student individually.
Paper applications are not accepted.

Thank you for applying to our 3K program. WCS is honored that our community has always responded so well to our program over the years.

WCS only has a Full-time 3K Program. Students must be 3 years old by July 1, and be completely potty trained. It’s important to understand that WCS is a 3K – 12th grade school and not a day care center. Prior to applying be aware that WCS operates by a school calendar and as such we are closed for all major holidays, one week at Thanksgiving, two weeks at Christmas, and one week during Spring Break. Tuition is the same each month regardless of the holidays observed and there is no holiday care for students when school is closed. However, WCS does offer a summer camp program for 3K-5th grade children.

Camp is always closed the week of Memorial Day and normally one week before school starts in August. If there are openings we encourage new students to attend summer camp because it will aide with their transition to WCS in the fall. Please email Audra Revell at (summercamp@wakullachristian.com) if you are interested in summer camp for your 3K student.

Students applying for the full time 3K program need to do the following:

Children must be 3 on or before July 1, and be completely potty trained. WCS is not a day care center and is unable to train children in this area. Students can be excused from the school if they enroll and they aren’t completely potty trained.

Once a student has been accepted at WCS, parents will receive a welcome letter by email. Over the summer you will receive additional information regarding supplies, orientation and various records and paperwork needed for your student’s file from Samantha Whatley in the front office (swhatley@wakullachristian.com).

Part-time and full-time 4K-VPK program need to do the following:
- Complete this evaluation application. No fees are required.
- Go to https://www.elcbigbend.org/ and apply for the VPK Certificate from the Early Learning Coalition. Once you are on the Early Learning Coalition’s website, click Parents on the home page and then Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) and follow the directions. You will need to apply and then receive your Eligibility Certificate.
IMPORTANT INFORMTION:

The Voluntary PreKindergarten (VPK) program is a constitutionally mandated program designed to prepare Florida’s four-year-olds for kindergarten and build the foundation for their educational success. Participation in Florida’s VPK program is free for all eligible four-year-olds.

To be eligible, a child must:

Reside in Florida AND be four (4) years old on or before September 1
- Once your student has been accepted to WCS you will need to sign the VPK Eligibility Certificate and submit it to Samantha Whatley in the front office at swhatley@wakullachristian.com

K12 Begin
Elementary, Middle, High School Applicants
Students applying for Elementary, Middle, and High School need to do the following:
- Apply online at the link below and pay the $50.00 non-refundable application fee.
- Provide a transcript from your child’s current school that includes grades, attendance, citizenship, and test score information. This can easily be obtained from your child’s school. WCS reserves the right to contact your child’s previous school regarding their behavior and school records. WCS is not a second chance school and doesn’t accept students with disciplinary behavioral issues.
- If applicable provide a copy of the students 504 Plan or IEP – submit a copy of the original placement documentation and a copy of the current plan in place in the public/private school. Please understand that WCS has limited resources for students with a 504 or IEP. The only service WCS offers currently for students with IEP’s is speech. If your child has an IEP for something other than speech, it is likely we cannot accept your child.
- Provide copies of legal documents regarding custody, parental rights, legal issues, etc. If the child is from a divorced family, both parents must be agreement to enroll the child in WCS unless court documents specify otherwise.
- Provide documentation from a psychologist, doctor, therapist, or counselor that pertains to your child’s well-being and education.
- List the email address of one person that will be able to provide a reference regarding your child’s behavior and character. We would prefer that this reference be a pastor or youth minister from your local church. If you do not have a pastor or youth pastor, please provide the email address of a non- family member. Prior to acceptance, WCS reserves the right to contact your reference.
  
  Please note, this application will not be considered complete without this reference, and you will not be able to submit this application without the reference email.
Once the school has received all the above information and has had adequate time to review the materials provided, you will be contacted for an interview and tour.

This interview allows you the opportunity to visit the school, ask questions of the administration, find out more about WCS and the educational opportunities available. Upon request, students may shadow for a day during the regular school year. As an additional part of the application process students may be asked to take an entrance test.
