Our summer swim program provides participants with weekly lessons in Wheatland Farm's custom-built, heated, saltwater pool with Dr. Lauren Haines, DPT, and her team. Lauren is a doctor of physical therapy, as well as a swim coach and professional athletic trainer. Lauren's teaching is customized to each participant. For our younger or developmentally challenged students, instruction is focused on water acclimation and safety. For our typically developing and more skilled students, the focus is on advancing swimming skills.
Wheatland Farm's adaptive sports programming is designed to provide as safe and hygienic an environment as possible for our participants and staff. Students will be scheduled in private lessons to ensure proper social distancing and mitigation strategies during this COVID-19 outbreak. Only one parent or caregiver may accompany students, and all non-swimmers should be wearing masks. Should your swimmer need support during their lesson, we require a parent or caregiver to be able to enter the pool with their swimmer to give this support. Parents and guardians are asked to bring with their students any items needed for the lessons, including towels, flotation devices, and toys. Students should arrive already dressed for swimming. Our restroom is available, but no changing rooms or student lounge will be open at this time.
Swim lessons will be held on Saturdays between 9am-3pm and will begin June 5th and conclude August 28th (weather permitting). We will be closed for 4th of July weekend. Lesson cost is $45 for each swimmer for a 30min lesson and is based on the full swim session participation. The full session will be billed at the time of registration and registration will not be considered complete until payment is received. Should the farm need to cancel lessons due to severe weather, we will offer a credit to your Wheatland Farm account. Please direct your questions to our office either via office email or phone at (703) 574-0511.
We are looking forward to seeing you this summer!
