How to conditionally prevent users from registering?

    Hi ITHEMI,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, our Spanish Support agents are busy helping other Jotform users at the moment. I'll try to help you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd rather have support in Spanish, let us know and we can have them do that. But, keep in mind that you'd have to wait until they're available again.

Now, let me help you with your question. You can set a condition to prevent a user from registering depending on their answer to your form. Check out the screencast below:

As you can see, the user can't register if they have chosen that they are not interested in using the service. You can clone my demo form to make things easier, or you can apply it on your own. Let me show you how to do it:

    1. In Form Builder, click on Add Form Element on the left side of the page, and click on the Widgets tab.
    2. Search for Bootstrap Switch Field, and drag and drop Bootstrap Switch Field in your form.

    3. Click on the Wand icon of your Bootstrap Switch Field.
    4. You can change your ON and OFF Label, and you can also set your Default Value.

Now, we need to set a condition to hide the fields, and show your message. Let's do it:

    1. Click on Settings in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen, and in the menu that opens on the left side of the page, click on Conditions.
    2. Choose Show/Hide Field, and copy the condition settings below:

Take note that the fields selected depend on the available fields, and the names of the fields on your form. If that’s not exactly what you’re looking for, can you explain a bit more, so I can help you better?

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.

IT'S NOT THAT PART. What we need is to prevent a specific user from being unable to register, for example if we have 10 emails or 10 telephone numbers that we do not want to register in our forms, how do we ban those users?

    Hi ITHEMI,

Thanks for getting back to us. Just to make sure we're on the same page, do you want to prevent users from creating a submission again? You can try using the Unique Field Feature which allows you to set limits based on an answer from a specific field. Let me show you how to set that up:

    1. In Form Builder, go to the Settings tab.
    2. Click the Show More Options button.Form Settings of Jotform Form Builder showing the Show More Options button Screenshot 10
    3. You will have to scroll down and look for the Unique Field option.
    4. Finally, please select the appropriate field from the dropdown, and that’s it!Unique Field dropdown under the Form Settings of the Jotform Form Builder Screenshot 21

Here is more information on how to set form limits based on a unique field. If this is not what you are trying to achieve, please let us know so we can help you further.

Give it a try and let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.
