wazelayaHello, I’m having an issue with my form ‘Preparacion de Impuestos Virtual’. I had it encrypted years ago, today I disabled the encryption and when I try to enable Encrypt Form Data again, the screen goes dark and the window to create or enter the access code never appears, it just stays like that and does nothing else. I have already tried different browsers (including Edge) on my computer, phone and tablet, cleared cache, and tried on another device, but the problem continues. Please check my form and my account and help me reactivate the encryption properly or reset whatever is necessary so I can use encryption again.

Podo: Support AI AgentHi William,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.
Regarding your issue with re-enabling encryption on your form "Preparacion de Impuestos Virtual," here’s what you need to know and do:
When you disable encryption on a form and then try to enable Encrypt Form Data again, the system should prompt you to create a new access code. However, if the screen goes dark and the window to enter the access code never appears, this indicates a problem with the encryption reactivation process.
Here’s how to properly enable encryption again:
- Go to the Form Builder and open your form.
- Click on the Settings tab at the top.
- Turn off the Encrypt Form Data feature if it is currently enabled.
- Clear any unsupported features that might prevent encryption from being enabled (the form will notify you if any features need to be disabled).
- Enable Encrypt Form Data again. At this point, you should be prompted to verify your account and create a new access code.
Important notes:
- The encryption password (access code) is set only once per encryption session and cannot be reset or changed later.
- If you forget the access code, your encrypted data is considered lost because Jotform cannot recover it.
- Make sure to store your access code safely.
If the prompt window still does not appear and the screen goes dark, this could be a technical issue that might require a deeper investigation by the support team. Since you have already tried multiple browsers, devices, and cleared caches, the problem might be related to your account or form settings on the backend.
Unfortunately, there is no way to reset the encryption password or force the reactivation from the user side. The best approach is to follow the steps above and ensure no unsupported features are blocking the encryption.
For detailed guidance, you can also refer to Jotform's official guide on encrypted forms here.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

HakanHi William,
I tested your form and had the same issue, so I created a ticket and escalated this to our Developers. Although we don't know exactly when it'll be fixed, we’ll circle back to this thread when we have an update.
