Formularz nie przyjmuje zdjęć (File upload does not accept specific JPG)

    Pozdrowienia

    Hi studioabm,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, our Polish Support agents are busy helping other Jotform users at the moment. I'll try to help you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd rather have support in Polish, let us know and we can have them do that. But, keep in mind that you'd have to wait until they're available again.

Now, let me help you with your question. If I understand you correctly, browsing files from the File Upload Element on your form didn't work, but when you changed the File Upload Element's name, it worked. Any name should be okay on a File Upload Element. May I know what's the previous File Upload Element's name, so I could try and replicate the issue?

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with a solution.

    Hi, Mikhail!
English is OK. Yes you've understood correctly. Name of the file is: IMG_20240316_145125_294

    Thanks,
    Wawrzyniec Kubeczak

    Hi Wawrzyniec,

Thanks for getting back to us. I changed the name of my file to IMG_20240316_145125_294 to see if I can replicate the issue, but everything was working properly. Check out the screencast below to see my results:

Maybe there was a temporary issue that resolved itself. I also cleared the form cache from the backend, which resolves cache related issues. Can you try it again and see how it goes? If you run into the same issue again, let us know, and we'll do some more testing to see what's going on.

Give it a try and let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi Wawrzyniec,

I downloaded the image you provided and tested it on my demo form and it seems that there is a file format issue. See the image attached:

Can you try saving the image again and make sure it is in JPG, JPEG, or PNG format? I edited the image in Paint and saved it as JPG and I was able to upload it successfully. See the screencast attached:

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Wawrzyniec,

Thanks for getting back to us. I’m sorry you're having difficulties getting that feature to work. I downloaded the image you have provided, and I tested it by changing the file name directly, and even if it's in JPG I still get the Invalid File Type error. See screenshot below:

Can you send the link to your form, so we can take a look at it for you? And can you try to hide the File upload field if the form have submissions already, and add it again? Let me show you how to do it:

    1. Click on the File Upload field, then click on the Gear icon to open Properties.

    2. Go to Advanced tab, the switch On the Hide Field option.

    3. Click on the Add Form Element and add again a File Upload element.

Once done, Can you try it again and see how it goes? If you run into the same issue again, let us know, and we'll do some more testing to see what's going on.

Keep us updated and let us know if you need any more help.

    Hi Wawrzyniec,

Thanks for getting back to us, When I tested your form, the same thing happened, so I created a ticket about it and escalated this to our Developers. Although we don't know exactly when the issue will be fixed, we’ll circle back to this thread when we have an update.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.

    Hi Wawrzyniec,

Thanks for reaching out to us for help. When I tried to open the image you provided in a photo editor, I received another error: "Could not open "image.jpg" because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found."

Since this error is related to a wrong file format and/or extension, you need to correct the extension, change or rename the image file. If renaming the image extension does not help, can you please open this image in another photo editor app, save it as ".jpg" file, and try to send it to your form again?

Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.
