Unable to download fillable PDF file

    Hallo liebes Jotform Team!

    Ich kann leider keine PDF Datei herunterladen nachdem ich mein Formular im PDF Editor fertiggestellt habe.

    Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, our German Support agents are currently busy helping other Jotform users at the moment. I'll try to assist you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd prefer to receive support in German, let us know and we can have them do that. But, keep in mind that you'd have to wait until they're available again.

    Please share the form link so we can check it. Also, have you tried filling out the form and submit it? After that, you can download the PDF submission document by following this guide.

    Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    First, thanks for your quick response!

    I tried filling out and submit as shown in the guide. It worked but my problem isn't solved.

    I would like to download the empty PDF form in case I have to print it for people without smartphone.

    Thanks for getting back to us. I created a quick screencast guide below on how to download the Fillable PDF. Please try it and let us know if the download button is still not working.

    1. In My Forms page.
    2. Select the Form you want and click Edit Form to open the form builder.
    3. Go to PUBLISH section and click the PDF tab and click on Download PDF.
    4. You will be taken to the Jotform PDF Editor. You can customize your fillable PDF.
    5. Once you are done building the PDF form, you can click the Download button in the upper-right corner of the window to quickly get the PDF form.

    Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hello Vanessa,

    it's still not working. I tried a few times as you mentioned but its not working.

    In your screencast the program behaves different than mine. I do not automaticly get send from the PDF editor to the Form builder.

    If I click on Download in the Form builder, I just get send back to the PDF editor without any Warning message or PDF Document.

    Thanks for getting back to us. Can you please try using a different browser or incognito mode to see if it makes a difference? If the same thing happens again, we'll investigate it more to see if we can figure out what's going on. It would help us to understand what’s happening if you could take a screen recording using Loom and send it to us.

    I tried your suggestions but the problem is still there.

    I checked my downloads right after it bur still no PDF File.

    Hi Marvin,

    Thanks for getting back to us. I cloned your form and had the same issue, I was not able to download the fillable PDF of the form. Please see my screencast below:

    As part of the troubleshooting process, can you please try using a different browser or clearing your browser's cache and cookies and see how it goes? I have cleared your form caches as well. If you run into the same problem again, let us know and we'll escalate this issue to the developers.

    I can see that you want to be able to provide the fillable form to be printed for users that are not able to use smartphones. I do have a workaround for this in the meantime. You can save the PDF preview as a PDF file. Let me show you how:

    1. In PDF Editor, toggle the Preview PDF option to view the PDF.

    2. Press CTRL + P keys on your keyboard.

    3. This will prompt the print options. Select the Save as PDF in the Destination field.

    4. Hit Save.

    This will save the previewed document as a PDF that you can use to print. Here's what it would look like:

    thanks for helping, you guys doing a great job!


    With the option ctr +P it worked well.

    I also tried in a different Browser and cleared my browsers cache and cookies as you mentioned.

    However, the problem persists.

    Thanks for getting back to us. I'm glad that the suggested workaround worked out for you. As for the main concern where the fillable PDF is not successfully downloaded, I've gone ahead and created a ticket and escalated this to our Developer team.

    Although we don't know exactly when the issue will be fixed, we’ll circle back to this thread when we have an update.

    Sorry for the inconvenience. I just tested your form and it seems PDF form download works without any problem as of now.

    I suspect this was a temporary issue on our service. Can you please test again on your end and let me know if the problem continues?
