    Now, getting back to your questions. Yes — what you’re asking is quite possible with Jotform’s AI Agents. Here's how you can build an AI chatbot that works on WhatsApp and retrieves product information from e‑commerce sites.

    Jotform supports a WhatsApp Agent channel. You’ll need to connect your WhatsApp Business account to Jotform. Once connected, the agent can handle user messages as if it were a regular WhatsApp contact.

    Then, fetch Product Information via API. Jotform AI Agents can send API requests to external systems. You can configure the agent to call your e-commerce site’s API, or any backend, to pull product data, price, stock, description, etc., when a user asks. The agent can then format and return that data in the chat: Here’s the price for Product X, and it’s in stock, for example.

    Use your product catalog, FAQs, or documentation to train the AI. This can help the agent understand common user questions about products, categories, or order details. You can also define workflows/triggers: for example, when a user asks about latest products, the agent can make an API call to fetch new items.

    Note that, to run a WhatsApp Agent, you’ll need a WhatsApp Business API setup, not just a regular WhatsApp number. Also, your e-commerce platform needs to expose an API that the agent can call, or you need some middleware / backend that can serve product data.

    Hi Mark,

    thank you for your reply! I would to know if I will be able to access requests and send messages directly from my WhatsApp Business app or if I need to manage conversations on Jotform. Also, can I connect the same number I am currently using on the WhatsApp business app?

    Hi Ciro,

    You should use a fresh phone number that isn't linked to WhatsApp yet. But you can use the same phone number if you disconnect it from the existing one. Here's a screenshot when I entered the same phone number into the WhatsApp AI Agent:
