Conditional logic in the form is not working

    Bonjour

je suis en train de travailler sur un formulaire avec pas mal de logique conditionnelle.

J'ai fait un essai en ajoutant une logique conditionnelle qui disait

1/si nombre de participants est rempli

    2/ alors cacher nombre d'accompagnants.

    Hello Lauredc70,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, our French Support agents are busy helping other Jotform users at the moment. I'll try to help you in English using Google Translate, but you can reply in whichever language you feel comfortable using. Or, if you'd rather have support in French, let us know and we can have them do that. But, keep in mind that you'd have to wait until they're available again.

Now, coming back to your question, I cloned and checked your form to see if I could replicate the issue with your conditional logic, but it appears to be working as intended. Check out the screencast below to see my results:

I just cleared your form cache, can you check if that made any difference? If the issue persists, can you clear your browser's cache or use a different browser? If you run into the same issue again, let us know, and we'll do some more testing to see what's going on.

Keep us updated and let us know if you need any more help.

Hi and thank you for your answer.

In fact it doesn't work as it should. When you select 2 in the participants drop-down menu it must offer 2 participant blocks and 8 Accompanying blocks.

    It worked before my test

    Thank you

    Hello Lauredc70,

Thanks for getting back to us. If I understood what you’re asking, let's say you selected 2 participants from your form it will show these fields? Check out the screencast below to see my results:

    • I selected two participants in the Number of Tournament Participants.
    • It displays the fields for the Name of the participant and the Name of 2nd participant, along with a few form fields for each of them.

Can you check if my screencast did not display the intended conditions that should appear in your form? If not, please explain in more detail so that I can recreate the conditions for you.

We really appreciate your patience and understanding.

This will be clearer if I provide you with screenshots of a condition. As you see if I choose Number of tournament participants = 1 then a certain number of fields are hidden (basically the other 9 fields linked to the other 9 participants) and 1 group of Companion fields. Because in total only 10 people in total can register. So depending on the number chosen in the Tournament Participants drop-down menu, the number of accompanying persons is displayed to reach a total of 10 people.

    Hello Lauredc70,

Thanks for your patience. I have recreated your form based on your form requirements. Here's my cloned form. Feel free to clone the form for reference on how the conditions are set up. Check out the screencast below to see my results:

    Thank you for your clone.

This isn't exactly how it worked... I don't understand why it causes this bug. When I selected for example 3 in the Number of tournament participants field, 2 things happened: 1/ the fields for the 3 tournament participants were displayed 2/ there were 7 groups of Accompanying fields which were also displayed. Same if we selected 4 participants, 6 groups of accompanying fields were displayed

One more thing, maybe it can help, as I said in my first message, before everything worked until I did a test by adding conditional logic which said

1/if number of participants is filled

2/ then hide the number of accompanying persons.

since then everything is broken. So I deleted this conditionnal logic thinking it would repear all... but in fact not.

    Hello Lauredc70,

Thanks for getting back to us and we’re sorry you’re having trouble with this. I tested your form to see if I could replicate the above-mentioned issue, but as you can see below, I selected 3 and 4, but none of the accompanying fields appeared unless we manually clicked the drop down and selected a number of accompanying persons. Check out the screencast below to see my results:

If you don't want the accompanying fields to appear at all, simply hide them from your form and disable the attached conditional logic on them. I disable and hide them all in my shared cloned form above. Check out the screencast below to see my results:

I cleared your form cache, can you also clear your browser's cache or use a different browser? If nothing has changed, please try recording your screen with Loom while showing the issue you're having and sharing the link here so that we can help you solve it step by step.

Keep us updated and let us know if you need any more help.

Eureka... I found the problem... it was the conditionnal logic If if number of participants is empty so hide the participants et the accompanying persons... and the same for the Accompanying persons...

    Thank you for your help...
