You Can Now Use JotForm and Dwolla to Process Payments with No Fees

March 17, 2016

Looking for a payment processor to integrate with JotForm that doesn’t burden you with transaction fees? Check out our new integration with Dwolla, a company that makes online payments incredibly simple for United States-based businesses.

Dwolla gives your customers the option to pay straight to your bank or credit account, but online.

Some key features of Dwolla include:

- No fee per transaction, unlike credit cards. You won’t be penalized financially for high transaction volumes.
- Dwolla acts as an easy on-ramp to using the ACH network as a business, platform, or consumer.
- The API is completely open source and free to play around with in the test environment.
- A premium offering that allows for more payment integrations.

To set up the integration, first you’ll need to create an account with Dwolla. Then select Dwolla from the form builder under Payment Tools on the left panel.

How to set up JotForm and Dwolla

You’ll then be prompted to include your Dwolla ID as well as your application key. To get the application key, just follow the steps listed here.

JotForm is always looking for ways to provide users with hassle-free ways to process payments, and Dwolla certainly checks all the boxes. There’s a reason TechRepublic called it one of the “10 Hottest Startups of 2015.”

Any experience using Dwolla? What do you sell using JotForm? Let us know in the comments!

Sounds great!
To bring this home and make this fully understandable to the unfamiliar, can you provide a sample screen shot that the user (form filler / payer) would see. That would really help!

With Dwolla-Jotform --- no one mentioned if the payer can pay with his credit card. Or is this just for transfers from the payer's to the payee's bank account?

Do clients need to join or can we use this simply as a credit card payment processor?

It's great that you're expanding the options! Since some of my customers would prefer to use credit card rather than bank transfer, it would be nice to be able to offer Dwolla OR, etc. Any given form will only allow for one payment method at this time. Any workarounds to that?

It's great that there are no transaction fees, but what is the Dwolla business model that allows it to process payments without transaction fees and still make a profit?

Then how do they make their money? As you know nothing is free in this life. No startup can live without an income, how do they survive without charging anything for their service?

I am not sure if Dwolla is a solution. We collect our client's payment information and process the payments with our vendors. We do not process any payments. Will this help?
