In 2014, Cat Town launched the first cat cafe in the U.S., combining cat adoption services with a welcoming cafe environment. It focuses on adopting out cats that struggle in a traditional shelter setting. Since its founding, Cat Town’s efforts have helped reduce the cat euthanasia rate in its hometown of Oakland, California, by 70 percent.
Challenge
Before Cat Town started using Jotform, staff were fielding adoption inquiries through email and managing them in disconnected spreadsheets. The organization also didn’t have a way to accept recurring monthly donations.
Solution
Cat Town now processes adoption applications with Jotform’s easy-to-use online forms. Applicants’ information is stored securely in one place, making it easier to make thoughtful placement decisions more quickly and on a greater scale.
Results
The improvements made to the adoption application process allowed Cat Town to make strong matches for cats with adopters, resulting in fewer cats being returned after adoption. It also uses Jotform’s integration with Stripe to collect recurring donations in addition to one-time gifts.
