Review Before Submit: Display form user entries that ends up hidden by condition

I use Inventory Items to define Activity classes.

The Activity classes are grouped in categories, IE: sports, arts, music, etc.

Show/Hide conditions will display the Inventory Items under a category if a single choice elements is true. If the element is false the Inventory Items are hidden.

Basically I want to remove clutter by only displaying inventory items under a category of interest, so I hide them until that category is selected. This all works fine.

At the end of the form I am trying to use the Review Before Submit Widget to review all the Inventory Items selected.

    Case:
Select a category, which display the Inventory Items
    Select some inventory items
Unselect the category, which hides the Inventory Items.
Click the Review Before Submit Widget

The problem is that any Inventory items that are hidden by conditional logic are not included in the list of selected fields.

    Hi MRL,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. When you say the following, do you mean that you'd like them to show on the review before submit widget?

"The problem is that any Inventory items that are hidden by conditional logic are not included in the list of selected fields."

If so, I cloned your form and tested it to see if I could replicate the issue, but everything was working properly. Check out the screencast below to see my results:

The unselected fields are also showing on the review widget. I've cleared your form's cache which should help. Can you try it again and see how it goes? If you run into the same issue again, let us know, and we'll do some more testing to see what's going on.

If that’s not exactly what you’re looking for, can you explain a bit more so I can help you better?

Reach out again if you need any help.

    Hi,

No it is still the same. In the cloned form do:

    1. click to display yoga and exercise
    2. choose a qty of an inventory item
    3. unselect display yoga and exercise
    4. with the inventory item in a hidden state, click the review

You will see the item from #2 is not displayed in the review.

I understand why it may not be displayed but was hoping to implement a workaround. Let's say there is something that happens before or during the Review which displays all the hidden inventory items. Basically a show that is automatically performed just before the Review.

I tried conditional logic to do that on the Review button or the Terms and Conditions acknowledge but can't seem to make it work. It always hides everything.

Can you suggest anything to address this? I would really like to be able to give the applicant an opportunity to see what they have selected before pushing the submit button.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for getting back to us. As of this moment, there is no option to display entries by the user that are hidden based on the scenario that you have provided. While the feature you’re looking for isn’t currently available, rest assured we’re always working to add new services and features to Jotform. I've gone ahead and escalated your request to our Developers. When or if it's implemented depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Can you think of a method I could use to trigger an expansion of the hidden Inventory Items just prior to the Review . For example I tried to create a condition on the Terms and Conditions element but could not get it to work correctly. Because T&C is a required field, and it is after the Inventory Items, then it would be a good place to enter a condition to unhide all the Inventory Items, but I cannot figure out how to make that condition work. Any suggestions?

    Mike

Actually I implemented a workaround. A condition on T&C will unhide every Inventory Item. If you have a better method let me know.
