What does the lock feature do?

What does the lock feature do? Does this lock the formatting but allow for new data to be “live update”?

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform support. If I understood correctly your request, you want to know if the Lock Item option just locks the field into a position in the report layout or if it prevents receiving the data with the new submission:

Using the Lock Item button will prevent only editing the layout of the field locked in Report Builder indeed, you won't be able to resize it or move it above or below. This feature won't affect the data received and the report will update even if this feature is enabled for some fields.
