Create Live Polls With Jotform

A live poll is a type of poll that is shared as part of a live event or presentation. The audience responds to the poll in the moment and the results are displayed in real time.

To create your own live poll, start by building your poll with Jotform. Choose one of our ready-made poll templates or build your own from scratch. Our drag-and-drop builder makes it easy to add or remove poll questions, change fonts and colors, and more.

Once you’re satisfied with the design and content of your poll, you can make it a live poll in two ways.

The first way to show your poll results in real time is with Jotform’s Report Builder. Here’s how:

1. Open your poll in the Form Builder.
2. Click on the quick access menu in the top left and select Report Builder.
3. Give your poll results report a name and click Blank.
4. Click Create.
5. Click on Form Fields in the left panel and select the poll question you want to display results for.
6. Choose a Chart Type on the right.
7. Click Publish and set the report’s access to Public Report so your users can see the poll results.
8. Copy the report’s URL by clicking the Copy Link button.
9. You can share this link to your poll’s results at your event (as part of a presentation, for example).
10. You can also share results through the thank-you page for your poll. Open the Form Builder, go to Settings, and choose Thank You Page on the left. From here, you can choose to show the report’s link in the poll’s thank-you page or redirect users to a landing page with the poll results when they submit their responses.

You can also make a live poll with JotPoll:

1. Open JotPoll.
2. Log in to your Jotform account, then click Allow when prompted to authorize JotPoll.
3. Select your poll and then select your specific poll question.
4. Click Generate, then copy the URL.
5. Follow the same steps as above to add your visual report to your Thank You Page.

The number of users who can participate in your live poll depends on your Jotform plan. For example, if you have our free Starter plan, you can collect a total of 100 submissions per month — for all your forms and polls combined. To get a higher limit on form submissions, you’ll need to upgrade your plan.
