How should I reply to notifications of new posts in threads to which I am subscribed?

Re, your email.  I kept sending new messages because the email I received from you indicated that if I replied to the email, it would not be read as it had an address of "noreply".  I asked if that was the case, but I didn't get a reply from you.

The notification you receive is meant to be simply that: a notification. Even though replies posted via your email would normally appear in the thread, we don't recommend this method. The better way to reply to notifications of new messages in threads to which you have previously posted is to click the View this thread on browser link at the bottom of each notification

and make your reply in the thread. It's better to view new responses (and respond to them) in the thread because sometimes edits are made to replies and no notifications are sent in such instances. There have also been several cases of user replies via email turning up blank on the forum.
