Can I use field tags to show a message before my form is submitted?

I know you can insert personalised tokens into auto responders/emails etc such as {fullName} buy why don't they work when I want to insert a first name that has been previously filled out in an HTLM tab to say something like

Unfortunately {fullName6}, the date of birth you have entered suggests you are not 18 years of age. Please contact customer services for advice.

Those tags work only when the form is submitted, so you can use them in email notifications and/or the thank you page. Can you explain a bit further how is the validation you're trying to implement should work? If you want it to work before the form is submitted then you'll need to use the full source code of your form and a custom script to perform it.
