Duplicating conditional rules do not reset the IF condition State value

    Hi,

When adding conditions to a form with multiple names, I'd like to be able to duplicate the first condition and then just modify the field being evaluated.

When I do it, the condition duplicates as expected. However, when I change the field in the If statement, it wipes the other values from the condition.

I then have to start over with the State and Value for each one. It seems like duplicating should allow me to just change the field for If and be done.

The Do (Show) stays set and lets me just change the effected field. This performs as I expect.

    Thanks for any insight.

I was able to understand what you meant. Please check this GIF image that shows how I understand it.

Duplicating conditional rules do not reset the IF condition State value Image 1 Screenshot 20

When you change the field name in the IF condition rules, the whole condition rule is reset.

So the 'Value' will be reset and will return to default state with value 'Please select state...'

This is not a bug, but as designed. Because the IF value was removed/changed it was designed to reset also the State value.

If you can confirm that my understanding of your inquiry is correct, I can submit a feature request ticket to our developer to checkk on the option to not reset the State value when doing the process of modifying duplicated Conditional statement.

We will wait for your updated response.

    Hi,

Your understanding is correct. The problem I encountered is 36 name fields with 36 member type, 36 gender, and 36 Years Attending fields.

My first condition was to leave Member Type and Gender hidden until the name for that line was populated. This worked by duplicating and just changing the Last Name (X) and related fields. The Show/Hide didn't change its setting.

The next was to test for Member Type = Student to require the number of years participating. This one reset to default for each duplication once I changed the Target Field.

I understand that the system can't know the available choices in the next target field until I select it, but if the match was there, it would be nice to have it remain steady.
