Asked by IvorWilkinson on November 30, 2016 at 03:28 AM

Hi I am trying to export data from one form and import to another,  I am using the link http://import.jotform.io/  but I keep getting an error message "SOMETHING WENT WRONG WHEN FETCHING FORMS, PLEASE TRY AGAIN"

Can you help?  I have cleared cache on jotform and browser and tried IE explorer and chrome

Please make sure that the submissions you are trying to import are formatted in the manner that the Import Data app is showing when you select your form.

    http://import.jotform.io/

The Import Data requires a different format for your data compared to what you get when exporting your submissions:

    https://www.jotform.com/help/73-How-to-Download-Form-Submissions-as-Excel-CSV-PDF

So you cannot simply download the submissions, and try uploading the same CSV file without modifications. You must instead modify the CSV file, and make sure that it is formatted exactly as shown on the Import Data app, when you select the form where data needs to be imported:

Once the submissions file is formatted in the manner the Import Data app is showing, you'll be able to import such a file as new submissions for that form.

Please try it out and let us know how it goes.

    Thank you for contacting us.

I cloned your form and imported submissions as a .cvs file, from the URL http://import.jotform.io/.

Please have a look at the steps below for further information.

    1. To ease the process, I created an example on Google Spreadsheets and downloaded the data as .cvs file.

    2. The top column of your sheet should match the format provided in the URL. Simply copy the format shown in the screenshot and paste it to your spreadsheet.

    3. Down below, you can see the example spreadsheet I created.

    4. Download it as Comma-separated values and import your data. You can see the imported data from the screenshot.

I hope this offers a solution to your problem. If your problem still persists, please let us know.

    Thank you.

Do you want to move your form with all the data to another account? If this is the case we can do that for you.

Otherwise, if you are having problems in exporting and importing data, could you please explain the step that you are having problems with in detail ?

    Waiting for your response.

    Thanks.

As far as I understood from your earlier posts, you would like to transfer a form data to another form but all these two forms are in the same account. In addition, you try to achieve this by exporting first form data and importing to another.

As I checked your account, you do not have any form on your account but the account 'nmhg' shared some forms with you with both edit form and view submission permissions. In other words, if you have edit form permission, you can import data to that form, too.

Could you please provide us the form ID's of both forms? I mean you would like to transfer which form data to which form.

Could you please also confirm that you followed every steps correctly at the below guide.

    https://www.jotform.com/help/308-Import-App-Easily-import-your-Excel-or-CSV-data-into-JotForm

Please also try again by following the above guide steps and do let us know if you still can not. We will try to do it for you on our side.

    Waiting for your return.
