If I add an option to a drop down list, will I lose old data and reports?

I would like to add another University to the drop-down list, but am concerned that I may lose current data and lose the visual report, which is very nice.

Please do not worry, adding options to an existing Drop Down field will not impact your existing submissions.

The data could be lost only if you were to remove the existing Drop Down field, and add a new one in its place.

However, if you simply update the options of the existing field by using its Options toolbar button, your existing submission data remains safe:
