Is there a way to set optional required fields depending on answers from previous fields? Or do I need to take the basic source code and further edit it to include ifset properties?

It is not possible make/undo a field required, but you can hide a required field and it will not be required anymore when it is invisible. That's probably what you should do. Just hide/show the required question.

I think you misunderstood my question. I have seen thousands of forms that do what I asked - let me try to give an example.

If I ask a question whether someone has any medical issues, and that is a required field, they have to answer yes or no. If they answer no, then I don't have to ask what the medical issues are. But if they answer yes, then I need to know what the issues are and the next field I would also want to be required. But I certainly don't won't the field to be required if they don't have any medical issues. So the answer and need for a follow up required field is dependent on the answer to the first question. I'm somewhat new to php but I know this can be done - just looking to see how, and if I need to do this outside of your program as well.

I'm sure it is perfectly possible if you hire a JavaScript developer. It is just not possible with JotForm conditions. Sorry.
