Creating Form unable to modify text in Question Properties fields

Unable to type changes in either rows or columns without using the mouse and one click at a time to enter single characters. There must be a faster way to enter text

I'm sorry as I cannot fully understand your question, as I understood you want to edit the field properties using the keyboard only, on my end I have tested and this works when using the tab key and trying to change the field's name.

Are you referring to this properties window? 

I have tested in the v3 and v4 of the form builder and I can see you need to use the mouse indeed if you want to make changes, using the tab key or other keys seem to be affecting always the fields already added to the form, as shown in my screen-cast above.
