    Hello,

    If a user complete payment using jotforms payment intregration (in my case authorize.net) we would obviously need a way to send the user a receipt for an order. This is a neccessary functionality for users to benefit from payment integration. How can I setup jotform so it emails a receipt automatically after submission?

    I was thinking of using the autoresponder feature but there is a problem. The problem is I would need a unique order number generated and sent to the customer.

    Please advise.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

    You can try adding a unique id field in the form (as the order number)

    Then add it in the autoresponder too

    Please inform us if this is not enough to what you need.

    Thanks.

    How would we make it so a new order number is generated for each purchase? Thanks.

    The Unique ID, is an auto-incremental unique number that will be generated for each purchase. You would need to setup an INDEX , to mark the starting number .

    You can also set it up with a Prefix , that will go before the ID. Example: JF-01

    You can also add a number padding , so given number of zeros will be added before the ID, example:  JF-0001

    Best regards

    Jeanette

    Hi Jotform, this unique code is terrific, but is there a way that Jotform can auto generate a random unique code (alpha numeric) for each submission instead of incremental number?

    Thanks!

    @mistersablon

    Unfortunately, this is not possible to accomplish with Jotform automatically

    A workaround would be to stablish a set of unique codes everyday, you can set them up in an alphanumeric format.

    However, if we notice an increasing number of people requesting this feature, we might consider to implement it in the future.

    @mistersablon

    Hi, if you can use the form source code embed, you can add a simple javascript function such as this

    <script type="text/javascript">

    function generateHexString(length) {

        var ret = "";

        while (ret < length)

          ret += Math.random().toString(16).substring(2);

        return ret.substring(0,length);

    }

    that can generate random unique number.

    I have a demo form with the script in action. You can also check its submission here.

    You can view the source code of the page(right-click)

    Thanks.

    Can you please open a new thread with the same question, so you can provide us with details on your particular case, such as your FormID, fields' description or so forth ?

    I also would recommend you to register with a free account rather than using a guest one
