I need to add a counter to the form and to hide it

Could you please give us further detail related to your question? For example, what do you want to count in your form?

If you prefer, you can make yourself a counter with fields and conditions and you can hide it. Moreover, be aware of that we have some special counter widgets in order to make it easier.
