A Way To Alter The Default Time Length For Data Retention

  • CNDCF
Asked on January 30, 2017 at 11:59 AM

Hi, in the past, there was an option to determine how long the data in the forms are kept so clients can resume their work on the online form (when autofill is enabled). I don't see that option now, so may I know what is the default length of time data is saved on their online form?

    Thanks.

Hi, thank you for contacting us.

The default length of time is 1 (one) day.

If you have more questions or need further assistance, please let us know. Thank you.

Oh my. How can I make it back to 4 weeks, as in the past?

    Hi again Cherylynn,

I'm afraid that option is no longer available. What I can and will do is escalate this as a feature request to our developers, and you will be notified of any action or progress via this ticket.

Apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you in advance for understanding.

Are you saying that the save forms to continue later feature is no longer
available for Jotform??? Meaning, they can't save their data anymore for
    more than 1 day??

    Hi again Cherylynn,

It would not be my place to provide such a statement as this is a matter of development, but I will tell you that our developers will address this ticket as soon as they can.

I hope you understand my perspective, and I thank you in advance for that.

I do need a response for that because we have just opened grant
applications using Jotform and I need to know if our clients can have their
data saved for at least 4 weeks when they enable their Autofill.

You can implement the following workaround: https://www.jotform.com/help/97-How-to-Save-Forms-and-Continue-Later

It is basically saving the data in an URL session. The data will be saved until the form is submitted.

I just need a straight answer:
Is there a way to save the data of our clients for 4 weeks as long as their
autofill is enabled as we have been doing in the past? If not, we will have
to terminate our account because this is a very important feature that made
us decide to use jotform in 2015. So I would appreciate a straightforward
    response to my question.
    Thank you.

I just consulted this, and the autofill has no limit also, the data will be store in the browsers local storage until the form is submitted.

I know it was possible to set a time-frame before, you can try to do it by bringing the old wizard of version 3.

    1) In the URL of your forms edit mode, add "?&old".

    2) Load the URL.

    3) Click on Preferences>>Advanced Settings>>Continue Forms Later:
