Unable to edit hidden fields in submission edit mode

I have fields for admin use only that I want to access after a form has been submitted, and don't want individuals to see when completing the form.  I added hidden fields and it seems to work, they can't see them and, after checking show empty field, I can see them on the form.  However, I can't edit them to add the necessary data, which is the whole point.   This seems like it should be something simple.  Help please.

The fields should be editable when you edit submission from Submissions page.

However, to be able to submit your edits you will need to use a submit button. Please try adding a submit button to your admin page and then check the issue again.
