I would like to use this method, and I have the secure frorm box checked, but when I test it, it doesn't apear as though it's submitting the form securely.

You have to click on the orange click here to signup link near the bottom.

Rest assured , the form is securely embedded , I have inspected the code in your page
https means the form is being hosted on https://secure.jotform.us/form/21586195647162
You don't see the link on the lightbox because of its nature, it is a different layout.

I have a similar situation, and in the HTML code I can see the https in it in both places you have highlighted in the image above, but if I right-click inside the lightbox and click properties, it seems alarmingly NONsecure. Would you please take a look at my page where I have my form placed and give me some direction? my webpage is NOT secure, which is why having the secure form is so important. this edition of the form does not ask for the amount of sensitive information I will eventually need, but I am just too wary to ask for all of that at this point.

Hi, I can see https on your form. If you view the source code of the lightbox form, you will see this:
This should assure you that it is using the secure layer.
