Visual multi select widget: The selected options are displaying multiple times when editing the submission

Asked by peter.shields on February 27, 2017 at 04:53 PM

When using the above gadget and choosing one item i.e. Luxury Two Bedroom Apartment. The edit submission shows the choice box full of the above choice instead of one item even though the google submissions sheet shows correct number of items i.e. 1.

So the records are correct but the display of the form when re editing the submission is wrong.

As I tried to clone the form and used the same options in the widget on a new form, I am able to replicate the issue at my end. However, when I checked the widget with different options, it seems to be working fine. As I check the options further, I notice that the widget is having the 4 options copied multiple times.

When I removed the all the additional options from the widget, the selected options are displayed correctly while editing the form submission. Please check the options in the widget and remove the duplicated items so that it should be working fine.

Let us know if you need any further assistance. We will be happy to assist.

Hi, the reason for multiple lists is that the resort has multiple rooms and a large party might want to book more than one at a time. When you have only one of each it will not let you choose another of the same type from the options list?

My way around it was to duplicate the options list over and over.

It looks like the widget is internally using the Options to display on the right side which may be causing the issue. Let me forward the issue to our backend team to take a look. Once we have any information in this regard, you'll be posted here. Meanwhile, you are requested to use make the options unique in the widget.

    Thank you!

Hi this widget is designed to have a unique options, having duplicated values will result to what you were having. We can't hand out id's to selected options to know the order or what were selected from the previous session. So it's best to make them unique numbering would be good. We will update the field description for this.

    Regards,
    Widget Team

    Hi
Thanks but because there are multiple rooms of each type I put several
copies in the options so someone could choose two rooms of the same type.
The way you want me to have the list once the say 'two bedroom luxury
apartment' is chosen you cannot choose another one for say a large group.
    cheers

Since the widget is not supported to have duplicate values, unfortunately, you'll need to have the options numbered. Or you may consider using separate widgets on the form with the same options for each type as you need.

    Hope this information helps!
