I have a loooong drop down list...it works ok on a PC because i can type the first few characters quickly and it will get to the selection I want...but using the same drop down on cellphones gives me a list of radio buttons...it will take forever to scroll through the long list to find my selection...is there something i can do to allow keyboard popup/entry on cell phone?

I assume you are referring to the following dropdown:

Drop down fields do not allow for text entry so their is no keyboard event on mobile.  I do not believe it will be possible to force a keyboard to pop-up in addition to the list that pops up when the drop down is selected.

thank you, sir....browsers on PC allows for keyboard entry, but cellphones probably don't

It is not that is allows for keyboard entry, there is not actual input for keyboard, it simply allows for skipping between options with the same first character.  For example, if you keep pressing "2", it does not search for 2, then 22, then 222, it goes 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 etc.  Pressing any letters on the keyboard will have no effect since none of your options begin with a letter.  Though it does allow for skipping to options with the same first character. it does not allow for actually searching the options.
