How to display submission email in English irrespective of the language selected by users?

Hi,

for our form, after user submit the form, we receive an email for the data entry in the email body as well as a PDF attachment. We are happy with the email content setting however the only issue is that if user choose to complete the form in Chinese, the email content will be in Chinese. We would like to receive the email in English even though they choose Chinese. Is this possible? I am sure this can be done because regardless what language user choose, the PDF attachment always in English.

Hello Connie,

Please note that the submission data will not be translated. If the user inputs data in Chinese, the submission email will also display the input data in same language. 

That means if the value of dropdown, checkbox & radio button options are translated based on the user selection of language, the same translated value will be displayed in the submission emails as well.

Thanks for your explanation. However in the PDF attachment we receive, it’s always in English even user select Chinese input. We can use the PDF but it does include the hidden fields, whereas the email body we can choose to have all fields. Our end goal is either PDF have all fields (including empty ones) or email body set to be in English only. Can this be done?

Hello Connie,

The reason why the PDF displays the dropdown, checkbox & radio button options in English is because the submission PDF data is loaded from form's submission page which will always display the input data in same language which user input or you have set in dropdown, checkbox & radio button options. 

Please note that you can show empty field in submissions page by disabling following option in your form's submission page. Please check the screenshot below:

Sorry I didn’t quite understand your email. What I was trying to say that why PDF can display English whereas email can only display in the language user choose. I have an example which I can forward to you. In this example, my client choose to complete the form in Chinese. After submission, we received an email and PDF. PDF is in English and email has Chinese input. I would like to have email also in English is it possible?

Unfortunately, this is not possible receive the answers in English for Chinese form by email.

However, you can include empty fields to attached PDFs. Please follow Ashwin's animation, the submission view change will also affect the PDFs.

Thanks is there any way to automatically unhide empty fields in PDF, rather than manually change it?

The option "Auto Hide Empty Fields" in the submissions page setting will affect ALL of the submissions in your form. It is not specific to one. So if you change the setting by unchecking the "Auto Hide Empty Fields" option, then all the PDF submissions downloaded on the form will show empty fields.
