Form field styling

    1.  Hi, Do you guys have a manual or legend, some type of description of what all the designer fields do?  It's hard to tell what happens when you change certain things.  Especially like, (Textbox & Textarea Width) I have no idea what that section affects??  But I'm working through it.

    2.  What's the best way to allowing 3 or 4 columns?  Should I create the columns in the style editor before I start adding text boxes?  It seems that would be better than trying to move things around later?

    3.  Third I would like to copy a text field's style, but I'm wondering if it's better to just:

create new form > set the columns > add text fields without style > finish all the fields > then go back to designer and style the entire form at one time?? Is that better, I could use your advice on the workflow to make is easier.

Because it seems the designer doesn't separate one text field over another, it changes all the text fields, correct?

That's all, sorry for the silly questions, but I just needed some help.  Thanks.

    Gary Michael

    Hello Gary,

#1. We do have video guide which should help you on how to style your form by taking advantage of our "Form Designer". Please take a look at the following guide which has link to several video guides:

I have moved your other question to new threads so that we can address it separately. You will be answered in the following threads:

Yes I know how to do that. I'm referring to the "horizontal space between
the field boxes" Look at my form clone of clone to see the space between
them horizontally, I know how to do the vertical.

Yay!!! I think might have figured it out. Check out my clone of clone
    contact form...
I had to remove the columns to "0" or "1" > then added the padding-right
    and padding-left.
Hope this works when I add other fields.

Hey how do you make 1 text field long and override the global text field
settings? I just want one long web address field under all the other
fields on the right. But I don't want to change the other field settings.

    Hello garymichael,

You can look for the ID of the field you are targeting to adjust, rather than using the class. The difference is that the ID is specific to that field only where a class affects a group with the same class name. You can check this by viewing your published form and viewing its source code.

Here is a sample screenshot where you see the IDs which you can use for your CSS:

Please take note of the difference that when using a class, it starts with a period (e.g. .form-line), which the ID starts with a hash (e.g. #id_27).

If you need assistance, please let us know.
