How to set the limit of submissions on the form using Ticket purchases widget?

Asked by JFedGMW on April 05, 2017 at 12:13 PM

I've read the threads and added a ticket widget to my form. Do I need to do anything to "connect" this to the "form status" option in the settings or will the form status "read" this widget. For example, I've set the widget maximum number of tickets to 200 and set the form status to disable the form upon 200 submissions. Do I need to do anything else?

I just tried entering a number but the widget doesn't seem to be working. What did I miss? Here's a link to a clone of the form:

    Thanks.

I understand that you want to limit the tickets on your form and see that the widget is properly configured. Since you want to limit the tickets which was already set on the widget, it is not required to limit the submissions on the form preferences. Once the tickets are exhausted in the widget, user will not able to select the ticket since it will be disabled as shown below:

The limit of form submissions is the total submissions received on the form i.e., you can only receive a total of 200 submissions irrespective of ticket types on the form. You may remove this limit from the form preferences.

    Hope this information helps!

OK. I enabled my form (instead of setting it to close after 200 submissions). I have the widget on the form. But the question remains: how does a person specify that they want 4 tickets for example? The widget does not seem to accept any input. And, I don't see a means to have the widget pick up a value from another field. Please advise.

Unfortunately, The Tickets Purchase widget allows only to select the type and not the quantity. If you want to select the quantity, you may consider using the Inventory widget on your form.

If you have multiple types, you'll be needed to add multiple inventory widgets to configure them separately.

Hope this information helps! Please give it a try and let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Thanks!

Sadly, one solution begets another question (actually two questions). I've added the inventory widget to the form. I'd like the option to select how many "tickets" to be the last question. I've placed the widget where I'd like it, but it seems to appear at the top of the page for no good reason. How do I get this to appear where I placed it? Also, as when the inventory is exhausted, will the form automatically become disabled?

    Thanks again for your help.

You may drag and drop the widget to the desired location on the form. Please see the screencast below that I made for you with the cloned form.

The widget should be then displaying as placed on the form.

as when the inventory is exhausted, will the form automatically become disabled?

The form will not be disabled automatically unless it is set to be disabled from the form preferences. It is required to disable the form manually after all the tickets are sold out. This is due to the number of submissions vary with the number of tickets.

Alternatively, you may hide the submit button or display a message on the form by setting up some conditions so that the users will not be able to submit the form.

Thank you this is very helpful. Also, my apologies. Apparently, my browser was not refreshing and showing that I had dragged the widget to the bottom of the form. Thanks also for the workaround!

    The issue is resolved!

One more followup question. Can you check my form and confirm that it is configured correctly? My goal is for a "All seats are sold" message to display and other fields to be hidden once we have 200 reservations. In particular, I'd like confirmation from you that I've configured the form or the conditional correctly so that this will occur when there are 200 seats reserved, not simply when the form has been completed 200 times.

Thanks once more for your help.

Your current conditional logic won't work and I don't think there is a workaround for this other than displaying the message manually. The widget will be grayed out if the 200 seats are all taken. The form cannot be submitted after this so you are safe from exceeding the number of registrants.
